I worked at ICON full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I started working at home one day a week after under 1yr of employment. My manager was always available for help and I had good benefits.

    Cons

Not an advanced workspace-cubicles and ugly space. I started at an entry level position, which didn't pay much, but then again, it was entry level.

I have been working at ICON full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very generous benefits/paid time off program includes tuition and gym fees reimbursement among other things. Health Insurance is a bit lacking but standard coverage/cost for the industry. Overall great company and great people to work with.

    Cons

Systems can be difficult. Lower level employees are often hired with zero experience with the expectation that they will learn on the job or be trained by whomever needs them to perform a task the most.

    Advice to Management

ICON is an amazing company to work for, we can afford to apply stricter standards for hiring!

    I worked at ICON full-time

    Pros

If you enjoy wearing multiple hats and working in a very small environment, where everybody kniws your name, then you will enjoy yoyr position with ICON.

    Cons

There are alot of jealous people especially woman managers

    Advice to Management

Should not "grandfather" managers that have zero clue how to treat employees and have no pharmaceutical experience, but are placed into managerial positions and are placed in charge of employees that have more experience than they have.

I have been working at ICON full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexibility in regards to work life balance
Nice, sunny new office building and quality food options within the building
Friendly and smart coworkers and management
Office is what I would describe as a positive place to spend your workday
Benefits and pay seem pretty good.
Building has a full exercise room with modern weights and cardio machines
Ability to work remotely one day a week
Attentive IT staff that is readily available for hardware and software issues
Managers do not micromanage ( provided you don't need to be micromanaged)
Work ethic and dedication to company is recognized
Company appears to lack complacency as simply being labeled top ten CRO and strives for success within the industry

    Cons

Jobs within the company might only be open to internal applicants for a matter of a few days. With such a small window, unless you are free and ready to apply on those specific days, you can easily miss what would otherwise be a great opportunity to advance within the company.

I worked at ICON full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The only pro is the colleagues that are there but most will not be there long because of how completely imbalanced and unfair the management is there. Unethical practices happen to great employees and everyone is replaceable and no one is valued. You excel not based on work but based on what you are willing to do for management or how much you are willing to kiss up.

    Cons

Everything with management is completely unethical. Managers target and threaten employees based on personal feelings behind closed doors and have been reported and put on warning are somehow still there. HR is there to protect the management and not the employees. Manager makes racist, inappropriate remarks and gives out personal information about employees to their peers during 1:1's. Completely erratic behavior and has been caught lying about situations and feedback yet nothing is done by HR.

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at who you have "leading" the team and ask yourself why in just the last year alone why so many amazing people left this group and all for the same reasons. Ask yourself does this person even have any interest in helping their team grow in the career? Absolutely not, it's all a popularity game and if you aren't one of the "cool kids" you are screwed no matter how hard you work. When a manager will blatantly make up lies and stories to protect themselves and HR doesn't even bother to investigate it formally what is the point? Word is on the street and the TA group is doomed because you don't have a leader in place you have a dictator that could care less about the employees.

    Pros

    Average pay and average benefits.

    Cons

Senior management does not seem to care about staff. There is a culture of fear with people wondering who will be let go next. Very political

    Advice to Management

You say that people are your primary asset - start acting like they are.

    Advice to Management
