I worked at IDEXX Laboratories full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Three cafeterias, full-sized fitness center with trainers, on-site medical care, state of the art building

    Cons

Nothing less than absolute perfection is expected in return for the above amenities. Management has fallen into the Six Sigma / Agile methodologies trendy fad. Expect to spend anywhere from one to five hours a day in meetings.

    Advice to Management

When you talk about work more than actually doing work, your company is inevitably doomed.

I have been working at IDEXX Laboratories full-time

    Pros

Great coworkers, 10 days leave when you start, good benefits package, 401k match, proud of my job, opportunities for growth, and lots of company events.

    Cons

Management is not that great. Favoritism is an issue and toxic workers are not addressed, but instead rewarded with attention and growth opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Please reward good employees that show up to work on time, get their job done and don't curse uncontrollably. Get rid of bad employees because they just bring down morale. They change the culture for the worse.

I have been working at IDEXX Laboratories full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company, awesome benefits, feel like you make a difference

    Cons

If you work in customer support the supervisors don't care about you and micromanage everything you do. They hook you with saying there are many opportunities to grow and advance in the company but a very small percentage actually go anywhere.

    Advice to Management

Start hiring customer support supervisors from within the company so they actually understand what we do every day.

I worked at IDEXX Laboratories full-time

    Pros

    Pay

No training required other than on the job training. To work in human medicine you have to be a licensed MLT but for working with animals this is not required. This gave me a good idea as to if I wanted to pursue MLT training down the road.

    Cons

    Redundant tasks.
We were always short staffed but we still had to have everything out before 8 AM so it was incredibly stressful.
Upper management was not involved in our department at all and did not care to learn what our jobs actually entailed. This led to them trying to move around our department and micro manage our time with no idea as to how that would negatively effect our work. This resulted in unnecessary struggles within the department.
