I worked at IDEXX Laboratories full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good vacation time and benefits. Co workers are awesome.

    Cons

Management absolutely sucks. All they care about is numbers rather than their employees. Was verbally harassed by one of my coworkers and management and HR did nothing about it. Rotating Saturday’s. I worked day shift but had to work night shift every third Saturday. Tell me why that is fair. They don’t care about your needs. You would go to management with a problem and they would blame it on you and make excuses. Also, higher up management like VP and CEO would come to do tours for the lab but no one would be there when they did it.

    Advice to Management

Advise to upper management in Westbrook, come to the lab when EVERYONE is there. Or atleast day shift. Get a real look at what is going on and how miserable everyone is. Or have sit down’s with some people so they can express their opinions. Advise to management in North Grafton - start caring about your employees more and taking their jobs, advise and concerns more seriously. People don’t quit from Idexx because they want to, they quit because they have to. One of the most stressful environments I have ever worked in.

I have been working at IDEXX Laboratories full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits-medical, vision, dental
    Stock program
    Gym reimbursement
    PTO
Great place for first time experience

    Cons

MANAGEMENT- little to no communication with staff, typically causes confusion and errors occur. Management does not like ideas that are constructive (ie: we need more staff... solution “you guys can do it)
    High employee turnover
High rate of injuries due to repetitive motion
    No real employee development

    Advice to Management

Please listen to your staff, do not brush off their concerns or their inconveniences because it usually means that time is being wasted, wasted time =wasted money. Invest in and encourage your employees!!!!

I worked at IDEXX Laboratories full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is decent. If you are a night person this will be a good fit.

    Cons

They have a policy that you cannot be a minute late. Not even a 5-10 wiggle room built in. If you are late even a minute for multiple days, an email will be sent to you saying you are unreliable. Also, the work atmosphere can be very negative. It was clear that upper management did not have it together. Lastly, the company is alive at night. Opportunity is there to go to day shift, but very hard to do so.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to employees needs. When you don't listen people tend to find other places of employment.
