I worked at IDT for more than 2 years

    Pros

Cool office. Employees (most) are very down to earth and are great to work with. Everyone is always willing to help you with any questions that you may have.

    Cons

You are looked upon as an asset when they hire you, but once you start making mistakes or they feel they have gotten the best out of you, be prepared to be alienated to the point where you want to just quit and never come back, because they will not fire you themselves, they will just let you sit there and feel useless to the point where you feel ashamed to come to the office. If you are not buddy-buddy with upper-management...

    Advice to Management

Be more down to earth and listen to what your employees are saying, dont just pretend to hear them out and then still do your own thing.

I worked at IDT full-time for more than a year

    Pros

No pros. If you are not part of the family that runs the company, your changes of growing are zero.

    Cons

They haven't cleaned the office in a decade. This is the most disgusting place to work. Inside looks like a sweatshop. If you are hired by this company bring your own vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies. Sales are going down; their products are just lousy calling cards that you can get much cheaper elsewhere or free on the web.

    Advice to Management

Clean the office, it is filthy.

Thankfully, we haven't had any infestations in our office, not only because of our conscientious employees (who love to recycle) but also because of our dedicated facilities staff that cleans the office daily and nightly. A big thank you to everyone who helps keep our state of the ...

    I worked at IDT

    Pros

Entrepreneurial environment where new businesses are constantly popping up. If you can latch onto the right project at the right time there is the opportunity advance and carve out a piece of the pie. Great work/life balance - most people have families and don't work much after normal business hours.

    Cons

The company has no clear strategy for growth or profitability. Most business units are just trying to keep projects in play so they can stay employed. the cash drain has slowed but things are still pretty precarious. The company will have to start generating free cash flow soon or find a source of funding.

    Advice to Management

Lock yourselves in a conference room until you figure this thing out.

We agree with some of your assessment for sure! It's definitely a fast-paced environment with a ton of opportunity. It's even encouraged for our teammates to come up with new areas for the business to expand into and bring it to the executives. We disagree, however, that there ...
