I worked at IE Business School full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Reputation. Interesting Professional Colleagues. International Environment. Competitive pay and decent work-life balance.

    Cons

Gender and Class Biased. It's Right-Wing politically orientation constrain personal growth . Obsessive focus on Clientelism over quality of knowledge produced. Very Obscure company dynamics mostly based on personal-lobby over merits. Complete dissociation between what they sell and what workers and students find once inside. Lots of back-stabbing.

    Advice to Management

Too many incompetent workers and bad management for a business oriented school-university!

I worked at IE Business School full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

International Environment, cannot really think of much else

    Cons

Excessive focus on revenues and customers over quality, they only care about MONEY
Merits are useless if you don`t have connections or an IE Masters
Lack of consistency between what they sell and the internal dynamics of the company
No common spaces in order to have lunch, up to 20 mins to warm up food and even some students need to reserve aulas in order to have lunch or eat in the floors
They require languages and degree and the salary is very poor, no incentives to grow and no motivation for workers

    Advice to Management

Too many incompetent workers and bad management. Value the people in the organization, having an internal masters should not be exclusive in order to grow. Stop running the business as a family business when there are +1000 employees.

I worked at IE Business School full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Nice place to work at for a while. Worked there for 3 years and there are lots of promotion opportunities especially when one has a Master's. Can only speak for my team but they were the best work colleagues I ever had and our relationship developed into actual friendships. It's a nice job overall.

    Cons

Top management sometimes seems more concerned about the customer service part than the academic and students do feel that and cling onto that as if the tuition fee entitled them to get away with anything. Also the job can get pretty stressful and working overtime sometimes seems the only way to get things done.

    Advice to Management

Taking care of the team, it's the best asset they have, and be more involved and aware of what they do.

I have been working at IE Business School full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There is a great start-up atmosphere among employees and ideas. It's easy to run with an idea if you find the support. Very international and diverse student and staff body. Probably one of the most international corporations in Madrid.

    Cons

Just like other big corporations and educational institutions, political hierarchies are discouraging and make it hard to see beyond a certain wall.

    Advice to Management

Show more leadership and truly integrate the vision and culture into the DNA of the school. Develop a strong HR policy that retains talent.

    Pros

great work environment, lots of travel, low stress.

    Cons

salaries are stagnant. to increase, you have to move to another department but you also have to wait for a position to open up which doesnt happen often as turn over for higher positions is very low.
