I worked at IEG (Less than a year)

    Pros

Most of the people are very bright. Office environment is casual.

    Cons

Unless you are part of the 'in crowd', watch your back. Not only from co-workers but management too. No room for advancement in the company. Learn what you can and get out!

I have been working at IEG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, smart, would like to have fun. Ability to hear from leaders in sponsorship. Well known.

    Cons

Weak leadership, no advancement opportunities, part of GroupM, bigger is not better. all decisions based on financial and they are happy to tell people that. Leadership gets deep in the weeks and does not allow employees to take leadership positions. Not a trusting environment and it all starts at the top.

    Advice to Management

Need to take a close look at how the company has been run and why it isn't growing.

    Pros

Smart people with deep knowledge, some good people in middle management.

    Cons

Horrible, HORRIBLE culture, very little opportunity for advancement, terrible top management. I would certainly not recommend this company unless you'll receive a huge pay raise. if not, it's simply not worth the aggravation.

    Pros

Great culture and learning experience for someone still in school. If you put in effort and hard work you will certainly benefit from interning/working here.

    Cons

Not many cons for the internship I was involved in.

I worked at IEG as an intern

    Pros

Casual work environment with very friendly people. You will get a good look in to how the sponsorship industry works. They have done a lot to improve their internship program such as giving interns a mentor and letting them work on projects.

    Cons

A lot of the intern tasks are repetitive and you do not get to work on projects until after a month or so.

    Advice to Management

Keep expanding the program. Let interns sit in on more meetings and be involved with more projects instead of just doing data entry.

  7. "Lack of transparency and real leadership means zero vision"

I have been working at IEG full-time

    Pros

If you do not know sponsorship, you will have a very good understanding of the landscape after one or two years. Casual work environment.

    Cons

Difficult to find effective leaders who will hold themselves accountable for company's large short comings and motivate employees in meaningful ways. Strong clique(s) that creates division between people. Lack of transparency when it comes to assigning client work, i.e. people get work that they have no business working on. Work/learnings does not help people advance within company or to next career step.

    Advice to Management

Have a clear, shared vision of where you want to go and what you want to be with your employees. Without the internal buy-in and reinforcement of said vision, company will continue to be a rudderless ship trying to avoid the rocky shore all while barely staying afloat.
