I worked at IET Inc. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

variety of projects, access to companies for future emploment

    Cons

Engineers are right out of school and inexperienced. They really are a contract Engineering company and I did not get to do any consulting. Traveling is not compensated well and they are not reasonable at times with paying for lodging, leading to excessive travel and workdays on Mondays and Fridays.

I have been working at IET Inc. full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I’ve been working for IET for over five years and, to date, they are by far the best company I have ever worked for! The supervisors here are friendly, understanding, and easy to work with. The president and vice president of the company are great! They go above and beyond to make sure their employees are happy. They’re both incredibly fun to be around, which makes for a very happy work environment. Both of them...

    Cons

With the variety of projects that we get and the speed at which they get started, sometimes my work load can be overwhelming and my work environment can get a little hectic. Many young engineers come to work for us and aren’t always “seasoned” with experience yet. Sometimes those that are fresh out of college seem to lack real world work ethic.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! If I ever have any complaints, I know I'll be able to feel comfortable addressing those with management, but so far I'm a very happy employee!

I have been working at IET Inc. full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

IET works with many different industries and offers the ability to gain more experience faster than anywhere else. Flexibility and independence are big benefits also. Variety in assignments also keep things interesting and never boring.

    Cons

Not knowing where your next assignment will be and who you'll be working with is not for everyone. If you have a sense of adventure, like to meet new people and are willing to take on a challenge, IET is for you!

I worked at IET Inc. full-time

    Pros

Decent pay, work isn't too difficult, easy job to learn, normal hours, decent benefits.

    Cons

After awhile you may be made a field service technician, requiring travel, different hours, and stress involved with working in union run shops as a non-union worker.

    Advice to Management

Teach employees to become engineers, not people who never worked in this field before.

I worked at IET Inc. full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Project Variety/Experience: With IET you'll get a ton of different projects. Yes they will all be focused on automotive manufacturing, however the project scopes can vary from doing work sampling studies to redesigning a facility to improve process flow to being a full time support industrial engineer. - Networking: With IET, you'll be in contact with some very respectable companies in the automotive industry. Cons

    - Pay/Benefits: IET's pay is very below average other consulting companies. The benefits package might as well be non-existent. If you decide to take this job, know you're doing it for the experience and not the money. - Schedule: Know you'll be traveling all week (Sunday-Friday) in most projects. Work/Life Balance is hard. - Client First/Employee Second: This ties with your schedule con from above. Don't get me...

    Advice to Management

    - Pay/Benefits: Increase the starting salary for engineer positions in order to be competitive with other consulting companies. That will expand your recruiting possibilities, increase employee retention and improve delivered services to clients. - Industries: the foundation of the company is weakened. In order to solidify yourself and not be dependent on the state of the automotive industry IET needs to expand to...
