    Pros

IG is a leader in the industry, management is pro-active and supportive with a strategic view toward growth and willingness to support employees who put in the effort.

    Cons

The industry is still being scrutinized from regulations resulting from 2008, but the management team is doing all they can to grow strategically and pay employees well.

    Advice to Management

Find ways to further support employees in the organization beyond their current role

"The CEO needs to start behaving like one"

    I worked at IG full-time

    Pros

    Flexible working
The bonus can good when the markets are volatile
Decent group of people working in the business
If you work hard and ask for promotions you will often get them.

    Cons

The ExCo team is dominated by people who lack normal social skills. They also never challenge the CEO and just bow to his decisions.

The CEO does not behave like a CEO. He still micro manages everything he can, like he used to as COO. Gets involved in every incident even when he is not needed. Massive control freak and prone to very erratic behaviour.

The industry is stuck in a regulatory situation from which there will be no easy escape and it will likely harm the business. The business does not seem to have a plan for growing revenues outside its current core business.

It can be quite dispiriting working for a business that essentially facilitates lots of people losing vast sums of money.

    Advice to Management

The CEO needs to start thinking longer term about the business. What will it look in five years time?

Rather than just talk about how much we value our clients follow it up with action. There is too much focus on how we can make money from clients or get new ones. There is not enough focus on how do we educate them better or build a better platform that will help them become better traders and ultimately lose less money.

The ExCo need to start developing minds of their own and start standing up for themselves and their ideas.

    Pros

Good if you are dead in your career , loser ,or is non competitive and just want to keep your self little easy in life.
Nice Modern office , free fruit and drinks , Nice annual Christmas party, Flexible benefits

    Cons

QA department is the most non competitive set , leads and management here is a total waste of time, big time politics and favourism by oldies, micromanage team members ,no recognition,no scope of career progression for intelligent, creative and hard working person working under them - Simply bcoz if you can outgrow your leads or manager, where will they go ? QA manager in particular likes harmless , non competitive leads so that he stands a chance to survive in the organisation. HR is biased in case you complain qbout your lack of progression here . Cost cutting in the name of modern office , work from home.Under big pressure due to regulatory curbs on their head.
In nutshell, its a small company with limited projects , high on favorism, monarchy kind of management , limited growth . Good for graduates / early career in case you dont find any other offer.

    Advice to Management

Get a life and move on oldies , IG is not your legacy!

I have been working at IG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Nice office
Direct peers are nice, (but stressed)

    Cons

Ex-growth - firm is 'consolidating' after the moves by the regulator to crack done on CFD industry. This has seen over 1/4 of global staff being moved on. (however the CEO did increase his base salary over the same period)

High level of micro management from senior senior people - this dominates their time and therefore your time. You will have Zero input into your direction and day to day activities. Every thing is controlled by the CEO.

    Advice to Management

None can be given - this is the biggest problem. Being ex-growth and micromanaged, means the true role of senior management is being ignored: shareholder value and what the company will be over the coming decade.

    I worked at IG full-time

    Pros

I would love their flexible working and flexi benefits.
Love the latest technological usage in IT.

    Cons

Too much of micromanagement is going on and expect the employee to do all tasks in less time no matter how big the effort is, no freedom to do things on your own way.
They pay very less to the market standards and make you work 2 levels more than what you are paid for.
No recognition and always try to find something that you are missing instead of all the good work you did for the team.

    Advice to Management

Please change some of the leads who are micromanaging the employees especially in QA department.

    Pros

Games , pool table and nice sofas. Free fruits and nice wall paper in the toilets. Easy to see the huge politics and egos that is hurting the company.

    Cons

All the best and talented people are leaving or already left. Senior management believe they know best and are following their personal agendas.

    Advice to Management

Stop your massive ego and listen to knowledgable people
