    Pros

The majority of staff are intelligent and social, despite an ever growing shift of in priorities by management, staff are 99% friendly and happy to interact and help...

Good social organised activities and regular social gatherings at company's well known watering holes...

Great location in the City and free fruit a bonus...

    Cons

A culture of high turnover of staff that other companies & recruiters would bite there hand off for...

Top level management disengaged from their staff who are succeeding in their tasks despite the ridiculous timescales & deadlines they are asked to perform under.

    Advice to Management

It's clear you have a strategy which is to succeed at all costs without any thought for those who keep your company at number one in your field...

    Pros

Flexible employer, good benefits package, generally friendly and like-minded people, opportunity always open to get exposure to different parts of the business, culture much more about getting the job done right in the time you're there rather than on time spent in the office for the sake of it

    Cons

Senior staff always seemed focused on the retail side of the business to the detriment of building an institutional product

    Pros

Colleagues are nice, fresh fruit provided each week, located in Melbourne CBD so easy to find a good coffee place.

    Cons

Avoid at all costs, you will end up leaving within 12 months like everyone else. The turnover rate at the company is the highest I’ve seen. Most people don’t make it to a year. What’s more, management and HR have no interest in fixing the turnover rate.

Micromanagement is a massive issue and it severely impacts staff ability to do a good job. Furthermore, it’s company wide and is adding to the low morale environment.

Office politics and favouritism is rife; nothing is based on merit. Success is based on whether upper management likes you or not.

Environment similar to an episode of Survivor, everyone whispering and wondering who will be next to be evicted or leave. Rumors circulate daily.

Wrong people in charge, while the right people are squashed. This leads to questionable decision making led by those without experience or direction.

The ship is sinking and everyone is frantically looking for life jackets. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Doesn’t matter, management doesn’t actually listen to its staff. It will give the illusion that it cares to appease you.

I have been working at IG full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Salary pay is good
    New office location
Perks like internet and gym provided for its employees
Job seems to be challenging from Day 1
    Learning on Advanced Technologies.

If you are lucky, you can fall in 'Shubham's' team and work will be balanced. Other than Shubham's team it will be like hell.

    Cons

Too much 'Bossism',Can be irritating some times.
Feels like pressure cooker if you are in office.
Targets set by senior management seems impossible sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Please change the office location as people will not feel to join by looking at the office location.
Reduce the pressure on the employees so that they will be free to join the company(else they will leave the job)

I worked at IG full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fantastically profitable, likely to be able to grow revenue and expand despite regulatory restrictions.

Great working environment, excellent place to learn how different operations work.

High job security - although mostly due to incompetent management and appraisal structures.

    Cons

Senior Managment are closed-minded and increasingly delusional. Most new projects will underwhelm or worse, completely fail, unless they can break the group-think that pervades within the senior team.

Management skills are not valued or recognised by senior team. Little chance for progression beyond a certain level unless you are prepared to constantly reply "sure, how high?"

Poor organisational structure. Many teams have no productivity al all, while being allowed by senior management to make excuses to get away with it. If teams do not directly drive revenue, there is little to no interest in the outputs of the team, which is a problem given that is 95%+ of the workforce!

    Advice to Management

Realise that the company outgrew its organisational structures years ago. Root and branch revamp needed. Volatility drives revenue, your current front office teams do not and are allowed to coast.

They also need to be able to listen to constructive challenge, rather than falling into group think. if they had, they might have been able to foresee and head off the FCA before the draconian leverage restrictions were introduced.

    I worked at IG full-time

    Pros

Great team spirit across the entire business. Most people are proud to work for IG and are exceptionally motivated. New ideas are encouraged and usually budgets are provided for testing them.

    Cons

Lots of positions hogged by long timers who've got comfortable and lack outside experience. Lack of strategic direction since the new CEO took office. Obsessed with moving large parts of the operation to Poland - cost saving comes with a cost (quality). Heavy emphasis on processes can be farcical at times.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to employees at exec level and cut the red tape.

    Pros

    Good frontline colleagues.
Had a variety of corporate offerings.
Great place to start a career and build a foundation in fintech.

    Cons

Management not supportive. Have a tendency to dismiss employees based on their liking of the employee rather than performance as displayed during my time here. HR provided no assistance or showed any empathy for the favouritism and segregation in the workplace. Inadequate turnaround time to important issues. Very corrupt internal workflow. Huge amount of inequality with workload distribution.

    Advice to Management

Rethink your approach to communication and also talent acquisition should not be outsourced; it clearly hasn't done IG any favours.
