I worked at IGT full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Provided great learning, development and growth opportunities and strong compensation and benefits. The company is large enough to provide experience in multiple roles.

    Cons

Company lost its way for a few years that led to austerity and selling of the company to GTECH. New company now and a different culture that is more operationally focused than concerned with innovation or being an industry pioneer.

    Advice to Management

None really as I am no longer there.

I worked at IGT full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Time is flexible, depends on which team you are in. Competitive salary and good benefits like health, vision, dental and 401k.

    Cons

Tight on budget again depends on which team you are in.

    Advice to Management

Please don't let the good developers go, talk to the team to know how good or how much someone contributes to the team.

Work to balance deliveries and allow resources an opportunity for work life balance

I worked at IGT full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

IGT Global Solutions (formerly GTECH Corp.) was a superior place to work until it went public and changed C.E.O.s for the third time.

    Cons

After the last change in management there was a fundamental shift away from employee satisfaction to pure profit making. Promised rises based on performance never came about while, at the same time employee benefits required higher and higher contributions. Layoffs to "reduce headcount" became common. After two successive mergers (Spielo and IGT) IGT's transportation operations were moved to Reno, NV and I too was then laid off.

    Advice to Management

Do not make promises to employees that you do not intend to keep, and when the company is profitable you should share a few crumbs to your workers.

I have been working at IGT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, 401k, Paid Time, Sick Time, Holidays, Float Days
Work Environment is Open, Clean, Calm
    Location is Great
    On Site Cafe and Gym

    Cons

The budget is usually low for group activities.

Recent years have brought worse health insurance options, less time off, lower 401k match %, and other benefits once had being cut away. The morale has suffered.

    Advice to Management

Put more efforts toward having happy employees and less trying to keep the quarterly books looking sharp for the investors. Reinstate the Holiday Season Bonuses/Perks.

    Pros

Pay and benefits were good. Vacation, 401K, 3 different medical plans to choose from, detail, vision, etcPretty low key atmosphere. Great community involvement.

    Cons

No structure or accountability. Laid back atmosphere to a fault. Other co-workers did not follow standards or common sense and made it frustrating because it was constantly overlooked.
