I have been working at IGT full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

IGT has an on-site gym, and Cafeteria that is open for breakfast and lunch. When you start, you receive 3 weeks of vacation, 1 week of sick, and 2 float days.

    Cons

The accounting department does not take time to train new employees. The excuse is always that there is too much work to stop and train. Additionally, managers in the accounting department are secretive. There is really no transparency. In order to get a promotion or special recognition, you need to be friends with management. There is no HR on site, and managers ignore HR type issues.

    Advice to Management

    Value the people.

I have been working at IGT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Ok pay and benefits for the level of work. You most likely will not receive recognition or compensation for hard work and adding value in your role, but could gain experience which can get your foot in the door elsewhere.

    Cons

Toxic corporate culture which expects miracles and devotion, but will give nothing in return. Good employees are consistently undervalued and not rewarded. Dead weight is given tacit job security in exchange for filling space. Raises, if they come at all, are pitifully small and promotions are either non-existent or so far behind that you're two levels up before they even officially acknowledge one. Wasteful and inefficient policies are common. General short term thinking from management leads to overwork and disengagement of employees as well as poor performance in the industry. Reputation within the industry is suffering. Long term prospects look pretty bleak company wide.

    Advice to Management

To be honest the company may be beyond saving at this point. Their failure to take care of their best people has caused a major brain drain that will be hard to overcome with the reputation they are creating and compensation which lags far behind competitors' and other similar industries.

Even if they can turn around employee engagement, cut the fat, and salvage their reputation before their big contracts expire the hole may be too deep to dig out of.

    I worked at IGT full-time

    Pros

Exciting industry, great people, great location in Northern Nevada. Active employee onboarding and training program. Openness of employees at nearly every level to take meetings with you and offer advice.

    Cons

Very large company, and very complex industry if you are new to gaming. There can be a big learning curve. Study as much as you can ahead of time about the slots industry, especially casino operations.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!
