I have been working at IKEA (More than 3 years)

    Pros

This company has been a pretty good place to work as I have been there for about a decade. The benefits are great and the advancement opportunities are plentiful.

    Cons

Incompetence isn't dealt with in a timely fashion. It is typically just endured.

    Advice to Management

Recognize who is really contributing to the success of the store, and be aware of who is just kissing your butt.

I worked at IKEA part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good, nice people work there; interview process straightforward and uncomplicated.

    Cons

No training on merchandise is provided so you will have to improvise, especially regarding items sold outside of your area. HVAC doesn't circulate well, so you will constantly be warm to sweaty. Multi-tasking is a constant, which means you are doing more warehouse type work, less time providing customer service.

    Advice to Management

Follow through on proposed changes to focus on more customer service. The self-service aspect doesn't work for a significant amount of customers in this particular store, especially as the store is mature and customers want it all.

    Pros

Great benefits. Nice people. Store manager is awesome. She actually listens and cares about her employees.

    Cons

Food team leads in Atlanta lack professionalism. Talk to employees any kind of way. Some in HR tend to put a band aid on issue instead of actually trying to find resolution.
