I have been working at IKEA part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefit, generous schedule, PTO, Sick time

    Cons

Poor management, unappreciated work place, favoritism

    Advice to Management

I hope management needs to stop hiring favorites over quality. I have been working at this place for years, and yet been told that I am no good enough but yet keeps on hiring fewer quality people to fill the position.

I hope managers need to appreciate what their co-workers had done for their workplace, instead of keep picking their favorites to be a co-worker of the month and such. This is why people keep quitting this place.

In fact, I hope management also learn how to looking into their team assets and direct them where they fit best.

Benefits are good for a part time. Plenty of paid time off
Open door policy for managers office

    Cons

    Little to no upward movement
Applying for postings that managers already have an idea of who they want.
You're basically working in a warehouse so expect your back to be broken at the end of each day

    Advice to Management

I have been working at IKEA full-time

    Pros

Great benefits package, maternity, tuition reimbursement, flexible schedules, and competitive play.

    Cons

The Houston store has a culture of I istead of a culture of WE. This attitude hi ders communication and togetherness when collaborating across departments and functions.

    Advice to Management

Change the culture by actively engaging with staff, set deadlines, adhere to them, and hold everyone accountable.

Address the culture clash between how IKEA used to function and how it should function.
