I worked at IKON Office Solutions PLC full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Overtime was great and there was so much joy working there. I worked there for 13 yrs, before they shut down in Kansas City mo. The pay was AWESOME, once I got to where I needed to be, I started at 4.25 per hour at Nightrider, and Ikon bought them out. So much overtime.

    Cons

Working sundays was not cool, but I knew when I signed up, that would be a problem. Some of the employees where wild and some where achoholic, some had jealousy going on,

    Advice to Management

Would love to see more interaction with employees

I worked at IKON Office Solutions PLC (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Monday through Friday schedule no weekend or holidays. Health insurance that's starts 30 days after employment. Wide variety of benefits including commission.

    Cons

There is no real structure. The opportunities for advancement only exist if you are willing to move your family across the country.

    Advice to Management

If an employee is ill and on a paid short term claim do not force the employee to return to work before the doctor clears them or administratively terminate them stating they are rehire able and when they re apply you decline offering them another position

    Pros

Great benefits. Management cares and wants you to succeed.

    Cons

Very competitive. The company allows growth, but you may be competing against a good many people for the same position. Management does not always listen to employees. However, they are better than most.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people who do the work.

    Pros

Some opportunity to advance. Good benefits and some community engagement. A great starter job because you get to see the variety of jobs out there and have the chance to work with legal staff and other professionals. Set shifts.

    Cons

Takes a while to advance, especially if you do not intend to go into sales. Mediocre mandatory training and management. There were many days where we had to go to an out of office training even when there was a lot of work at our work site. Management doesn't seem to have a good relationship with their clients or their own staff. Low pay.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like they matter by actually listening to their needs. I would have easily stayed longer if I felt the management were more supportive.

    Pros

Some of the brands that ikon carries have very good name recognition. The office personnel & technicians are very supportive.

    Cons

Too many chiefs! There are so many levels of management that it constantly causes mass confusion.
