I have been working at IM Flash Technologies full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

IM Flash, like many companies I've worked for, has core values: Teamwork, Execution, Commitment, Integrity. Unlike most companies, however, IM Flash does a great job of embodying the values. You really get a sense that management lives and upholds those values in all interactions.

    Cons

It is a high stress environment. For the most part, the coworkers are great to work with, but even the most pleasant individuals can be hard to work with occasionally in such a high stress, high throughput environment

    Advice to Management

One of IM Flashes parent companies is Micron where there was historically a time based or milestone based approach to promotions. IM Flash says they don't adhere to those guidelines anymore. Promotions are given based on merit. However, there is still a lingering number of managers that keep grasping to the old ways. In order to become a manager you must work in the fab as a shift employee, work as a process or equipment...

I have been working at IM Flash Technologies full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Good potential for advancement here if you are willing to work for it. Time off provided for shift workers is excellent and allows for long 2-3 week vacations at times. Company Values truly are important to the leadership team. Good benefits and bonus structure. Technology world leader in what we do. Large amount of future growth on site and investment in Lehi fab leads to better than normal job stability (as much...

    Cons

JV company structure is confusing and lacks some of this bonuses of the parent companies (stock sharing/purchase). Yearly review process depends on market adjustments and rarely allows for raises that keep up with inflation. Rare to give a raise that is 5+%. The only real way to get a raise is a promotion. Extremely fast paced environment. Once in a supervisor/management position you will be required to work on off...

    Advice to Management

The yearly review process do NOT reward high contributors to the level they deserve to be, this needs to be fixed to retain them.

I have been working at IM Flash Technologies full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

Core values based company (great core values), Utah offers great outdoor entertainment, pay is competitive for the area, good benefits including bonuses (unless the market is down) and the company is always trying to improve and create a better environment for the team members.

    Cons

The company is people focused and, in my opinion, too people focused. From a Supervisor's view, it is difficult to manage when everything has to be documented and proven with the view that we will be sued for firing someone. It also makes it very difficult to talk to your directs and worry about hurting their feelings and being reported to your manager or to HR. Advancement opportunities into management (M1 or >)...

I worked at IM Flash Technologies full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Management is highly engaged to create the best career opportunities for everyone while trying to remove roadblocks for people trying to get their work done. Great vacation. Decent pay. Good flexibility.

    Cons

Long hours and a lot of flexibility required on the employee side.

    Advice to Management

Culture is moving in the right direction! Keep it up! On the other hand, the safety department was always deficient in their planning and implementation. When adding to the fab, IE. new tools or additional space, it's best to get people from all perspectives involved in the planning. Technicians and engineers that will work on or around that equipment will bring a unique perspective that can't be overlooked.
