I have been working at IM Flash Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Im flash is always looking for ways to make their technology better. This technology, memory chips, helps make the world better and more connected. The technology is directly on the forefront of so many cool new gadgets like iPad, Solid State Drives, and helping compaies like Facebook and google proved better web experiences.

    Cons

There are many unknowns about future technologies as well as stiff competition from Samsun/Toshiba and new Asian manufacturers.

I have been working at IM Flash Technologies full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Flexibility and ability to progress your career. Depending on your role, leadership can be flexible with work schedule and everyone has the ability to apply for job openings as they're posted; lots of room for advancement.

    Cons

Team members are trained and quickly move to a certain level in their path and then it just stops. In my opinion, there are not satisfactory answers for why this occurs and is a high contributor to turnover.

    Advice to Management

We need to work on the turnover rate and truly find out why people are leaving. Much more is being said within the team than is being communicated to HR at the exit interviews.

I have been working at IM Flash Technologies full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

There is always a feeling that management is trying to make this a good place to work. New programs, initiatives, and rewards are introduced to make IM Flash a better place to work, and associate with.

    Cons

Too much tie to Micron. There is a lot of influence from the parent company Micron with next to zero influence from Intel. I bonuses always seemed tied to Micron performance and Micron financials.

    Advice to Management

Cut the cord from Micron, and speak up for our employees. If we are doing well then we need to be rewarded, it should never be determined by Micron.

"Outstanding place to work, but with risks because of Joint Venture nature and failing Intel-Micron relationship."

    Pros

Excellent management and people-centric approach to achieving outstanding results. Focuses on the critical few metrics for NAND fab manufacturing & excels at them. Respects employees and trust sthem to make the right choices.

    Cons

Joint Venture between Intel and Micron is a marriage made in purgatory, neither heaven nor hell but contracted for 10 years! One parent company is an arrogant cash cow with unclear intentions & the other is a cash-starved low-cost memory maker with cowboy management. The two companies are competitors in the NAND marketplace and obviously aren't honest with one another in their joint management meetings, leading to failed strategic decision making for IM Flash. This is evidenced by the IM Flash Singapore fab...delayed at least 3 times, and then ultimately "put on ice" for 3 years and 800+ employees laid off.

    Advice to Management

IM Flash management is outstanding, best I've seen in 12 years in semiconductors. Intel & Micron management need to heal their NAND relationship and work together to survive the extremely difficult NAND environment.

    Pros

Pay is good but it usually is in the semiconductor industry.

    Cons

Benefits are very basic, no special perks like you hear about at other companies.

    Advice to Management

Be more flexible with work schedules and put more emphasis on the people vs. the equipment.
