I have been working at IMAX full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice office/building, friendly staff, nice location, some movies sometimes (less often now)

    Cons

People come and go way too often, it shows that there is a low sense of loyalty and commitment to the company. A lot of people complain about their jobs regularly- it's like no one's happy to be there. We don't see movies anymore, we don't have social events. It's getting more stressful and people aren't motivated. Working hard is not rewarded- supervisors are more concerned with following the rules and getting approval from higher-ups! Where's the fun spirit? Where's the excitement for movies?

    Advice to Management

Stop over-hiring! Hire fewer- more diverse & talented/experienced people. There is a lot of waste- multiple people doing one job! It's frustrating and unproductive. Also, stop hiring the same types of people!

    I worked at IMAX full-time

    Pros

Great place to start a career. There are many opportunities for networking. The majority of employees are nice, hard workers. Some fun perks like free movie screenings and free lunch every two months. Company is growing.

    Cons

Overworked employees, low morale, no leadership.

    Advice to Management

Value employees, listen to feedback from employees, stop making excuses when things go wrong.

"No respect from senior management for employees and their hard work. They "talk to talk" but don't "walk the walk"."

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

If you are lucky to work for a good supervisor, it is a good place to work. Interesting product and lots of brand recognition.

    Cons

The CEO's and senior management do not respect employees and are mostly concerned with their own salaries.

    Advice to Management

Real people work for them and they need to remember their salaries are a result of the hard work by those good people.
