I have been working at IMAX as an intern

    Pros

Awesome people that you get to work with and learn a lot from, especially as an intern. They really give you so many different ways to learn, especially with their summer program in the playa vista office. Lots of hands on experience with managers that genuinely want to see you succeed.

    Cons

There aren't many cons, other than there's a lot of construction going on around the office. But the new offices are so nice you barely notice.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what everyone is saying and don't pay too much attention to the haters.

    Pros

Great structure to intern program, and highly developed program. Would reccomend to anyone with an interest in entertainment or technology.

    Cons

Don't retain interns or offer many opportunities post-grad. More connections in between interns and facilitate mixers or lunches.

    Advice to Management

I would recommend that they recruit from their pool of interns and higher strong talent.

I worked at IMAX full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

IMAX is a very cool company to work for. The office is nice and the people are really great. The office politics aren't bad for a company. The benefits are good and you get to see a lot of great movies.

    Cons

The salaries aren't very high. They don't seem to value long-term employees as much as some other companies might.

I worked at IMAX full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Perfect position and company for a Self-starter and many opportunities to make an impact as it is a growing company with many processes to implement.

    Cons

not the kind of place if you like a strict set of responsibilities or if you are uneasy working and making decisions in an environment where information is hard to get.

    Advice to Management

Take more time to support your team in navigating some of the bureaucracy that has formed in the company throughout the years.
