  1. "Law Clerk"

    Former Intern - Anonymous Intern
    Positive Outlook

I worked at IMI for less than a year

Small legal department, interesting and substantive work, good mentorship from General Counsel. Good team environment, lots of responsibility.

Management did not want to pay for a full time intern over the summer, even though the cost would have been negligible compared to even one hour of outside counsel work. Pay was much lower than other legal internships.

    Advice to Management

A full time position would be much more valuable for both the department and the intern. I would consider budgeting for this position and paying closer to market rates.

  2. "Great place to work if you have personal ambition and drive!"

Plenty of opportunities to make significant improvements and grow your professional development. If you apply discretionary effort you will be rewarded. If you demonstrate a strong desire to learn and work well in a matrix and team environment then you will succeed. Business strategy is very clear applicable to current market conditions. Great leadership at the helm. Mark Selway set a standard for operational excellence over the past 5 years and made significant investments to build a strong foundation, which the company definitely needed at the time. Roy Twite’s vision for growth acceleration is now needed in order to capitalize on industry trends and exciting commercial opportunities.

Too lean (not enough resources to carry out the full strategy); too conservative at times (unwilling to make big bets); and too much internal bureaucracy that impedes ability to be more nimble and responsive.

    Advice to Management

Empower your people more, trust your middle managers, and remove the barriers that interfere with making progress. Take some chances else you will continue to chase the competition vs lead the pack!

    Great culture and team environment

Lots of potential but minimal support for growth at this time.
