I have been working at IMM (Boulder) full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Fun, fast-paced environment full of born leaders. National client base. Lots of opportunity for growth, with a culture known for working and playing hard, and promoting the performers.

    Cons

This place is not for the feint of heart or for wishers or whiners. If you're failing you'll fail faster here. But if you're smart and fearless you'll go further, faster.

    Advice to Management

Keep your heads down, ignore the noise of the naysayers and keep your pedal to the metal . You have a full-throttled creative, media and analytics team that produces some unusually strong results that your competitors can't match. Long term, clients will have a hard ignoring or denying the advantage of working with you.

I worked at IMM (Boulder) full-time

    Pros

You work with incredibly smart people, and when you take the time to think, innovate and show how your ideas can bring value to the agency, you tend to be given a testing ground to prove it. It does require a little grit, but if you form the right alliances and leverage each other's strengths to prove it, you really a difference in the direction of the company. You can drive your own destiny here, which is not true for...

    Cons

The team is lean and mighty, so this does result in a little bit of "going through the motions" and it is hard to breed new ways of thinking when people are too busy to think outside of what they need to get done.

    Advice to Management

Things are going in a good direction. Continue to empower employees to learn things outside of their everyday job duties and encourage innovation by offering small opportunities to take risks with new ideas - and celebrate these ideas for the value they bring. This will keep you moving forward and help the company stand out - especially with the business that is coming in.

    I worked at IMM (Boulder)

    Pros

Nice building, some really nice people, and snacks.

    Cons

Virtually no onboarding. Many employees were unhappy just waiting for the next job to come by. I have never been in such a negative environment before. Honestly all the negative reviews on glassdoor are true.

    Advice to Management

Be more supportive to each other. It's a small company.

    Pros

Free snacks Some genuinely good people

    Cons

Overworked and underpaid employees A forced culture Lack of financial stability Unprofessional management/leadership

    Advice to Management

"Transparency" only works if you're being honest with employees. It's better to be honest than pretending to be honest, yet shady.

I worked at IMM (Boulder) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay, great benefits. Had an extremely talented creative team at the time.

    Cons

All of the creative team is now gone. Creative Directors were not interested in taking risks or doing anything new, a typical solution to a problem consisted of a video and a microsite, not a bad thing, but not always the best solution. Can also be quite disorganized.

    Advice to Management

Go outside of your comfort zone and explore more risky ideas. Trust your creatives.

I worked at IMM (Boulder) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Pet friendly, good chef, office close to Pearl street.

    Cons

Training new hires (both cross department and for the job hired for) is virtually non existant. There is a very top level explanation given, and then the new hires scramble around without understanding the full scope of their process. This is not the fault of the new hires, but on the management. The management would rather hype up potential new business than focus on the core company process. There is no clear...

I worked at IMM (Boulder) full-time

    Pros

Great atmosphere, great manager, wonderful coworkers

    Cons

They have abandoned what made them great in the first place. When IMM started they were very agile, allowing them to pitch and show results very quickly to new clients. Where they struggled at that time was maintaining the larger relationships, loosing several of their larger accounts to the competition. Due to this, business came in peaks and valleys, and while the peaks were generally long lasting, the valleys were...

Thank you for your thoughtful review. Being fast (agile) is an attribute that certainly still exists at IMM. However, our business cannot have long-term success simply by being agile. I'd rather have a business full of smart professionals focused on results who happen to be agile. ...

I have been working at IMM (Boulder) full-time

    Pros

Super flexible work schedule and policies. Work life balance is a major benefit, along with other things like unlimited vacation time.

    Cons

Several in senior leadership have been here too long, overly-focused on selling hype to potential customers with lots of talk and little action for improving the business. Not as progressive as they sell and sound. Constant state of never getting anything finished or completed - except sales pitches.

    Advice to Management

Get out of your own way. Too much red tape for a small company. Invest in the core business operation, concrete change and less on sizzle. No need for consensus and making everyone happy.

I have been working at IMM (Boulder) full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Leadership that's constantly thinking about what's next, where the market stands, how to leverage. They are not daunted by problems, and work tirelessly for solutions - for the agency, the clients and honestly for employees. In the past several months, the leadership and teams have been faced with incredibly difficult and complex challenges - and those that have stuck in there have buckled down, pulled themselves up...

    Cons

Agencies are constantly faced with unexpected swings and market volatility. It's hard and isn't for the faint of heart. There are times that you wish you had more information and answers and that can be frustrating and you can feel stuck. Being in between small/mid size we get in our own way trying to balance being nimble and get stuff done, and following process/too much red tape. But nothing many companies/all agencies...

    Advice to Management

We sometimes get in our own way - be careful not to let the day to day suck us in and we lose sight of the longer term growth opportunities. We are having to work with a lean and mean mentality and that can at times cause us to forget we can't starve and grow at the same time. Keep looking at ways to invest in the smart team that we have - and never forget that it's important to hire slow and fire fast for the best...
