I worked at IMRB full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Teaches you to make your way through the mess that is imrb

    Cons

    - No work life balance - No acknowledgement of the work that you have done or of the extra hours that you have put or the weekends that you have worked - Credit is often taken away by the seniors. Politics and favoritism at all the levels. -HR is redundant. Neither do they decide the increments nor do they keep the malpractices in check. -Woek on impossible deadlines as seniors have no say against the clients

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees as humans and not machines to dish out reports every other day

    Pros

You get a good amt of hols, but most of the times you cannot take it as you always have some work through which you are nt even learnin anythin

    Cons

People say that its a brand and you will learn a lot: What I have noticed is , you are always overshadowed by senior management No new learning No new ideas are implemented You come to IMRB you are actually taking many steps backward in your career, even if you know something, your seniors would never accept and keep their big egos in front of you.

    Advice to Management

I worked at IMRB full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

1- Legacy name. Anyone who understands anything about branding understands how difficult it is to achieve name recall. IMRB has a 45+ yr old history, so yes it is rightly called the University of Market Research in India. Thats a big plus in Market Research, an easy field to get into and frightfully competitive too, if you've seen agencies trying to make a name. Often one doesn't have to 'pitch' to clients unlike...

    Cons

1- Its an old setup, so the biggest problem is moving across organizational divisions. So, if you're in Quantitative Research, and wish to move to Qualitative, OR, if you wish to move to Brand from Social Research or Industrial Research, these moves are quite difficult. So, you get stuck for quite sometime, i.e., a longish time, within the same Division, and beyond a point the work becomes repetitive, boring and uninspiring....

    Advice to Management

For people to stay, improve pay, because the work conditions aren't better or worse than elsewhere in the private sector.

    Advice to Management

Change Change Change! The total number of good people who have left IMRB this year alone should be eye opening! Yet there is arrogance! Not even a single person who has left among atleast the 15 i know (in last 10 months) has left on a good note. Please bring some gender equality. I am tired of IMRB delhi being a women biased party where top management swore imrb is best place for women and there is a great opportunity...
