I have been working at IMRB full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get a good amt of hols, but most of the times you cannot take it as you always have some work through which you are nt even learnin anythin

    Cons

People say that its a brand and you will learn a lot: What I have noticed is , you are always overshadowed by senior management No new learning No new ideas are implemented You come to IMRB you are actually taking many steps backward in your career, even if you know something, your seniors would never accept and keep their big egos in front of you.

    Advice to Management

Please hir some good people at senior level

I worked at IMRB full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Good brand name that's it. No such pros the company has apart from research knowledge which is also becoming horrible day by day with the advent of horrible senior managers

    Cons

Company is flooded with old guys (those are associated with more 20 years) who can't think positively, they always believe in blame game. Senior management advice to employees to either work late or leave the company, working on weekends is very common, poor compensation

    Advice to Management

Please consider the handwork a person contributes rather than politics

    Pros

    1) You learn to struggle and learn

    Cons

    1) They hire you at decent package but increment is less than 7 percent even if you are top rated employee (For Kolkata Division) 2) To get an average rating too you have to work 13-14 Hours a day 3) One of their criteria to hire in Kolkata is to hire those who have some kind of reason to stay in Kolkata 4) Lots and lots of Politics 5) Preference to people who can butter senior...

I have been working at IMRB full-time

    Pros

    1. Steep Learning Curve 2. Hands-on experience on every aspect of a research project life cycle 3. Opportunity to build client interaction skills through on the job training 4. Career path clearly defined 5. Helpful Senior Management 6. International Travel (but only for the International Unit)

    Cons

    1. Work life balance 2. High stress work environment (though quite dependent on the boss and how he/she is planning the work for the team) 3. Reliance on fewer clients for business 4. Use of analytics tools and technology very limited and accessible to a closed group

    Advice to Management

Not much, they are already doing a great job. However, a bit of expertise building in latest tools and techniques can be thought of.

I have been working at IMRB full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Good place to learn market research - or at least it used to be The IMRB brand name still carries some weight

    Cons

Short-sighted senior management Poor work allocation No respect for personal lives of employees

    Advice to Management

Not very sure as to why I am even writing this here. I'd be really surprised if anyone even cares. But at some point, the senior management needs to stop and take a look around them. IMRB used to be a place where one would go to learn research. It is fast becoming a "sales" company. Taken together with the high attrition rate at mid-level, things are not looking very good. Not a very good time to join the company.

I have been working at IMRB full-time for more than a year

    Pros

good learning environment, helpful co workers, reputed clients, interesting work, responsibilities are given very early after joining, if somebody is really into MR & doesn't mind giving up personal life then this is the place to be(provided he/she has excellent survival skills)

    Cons

no work life balance, average working hours per day can range from 12-18, not to mention that you are expected to work on weekends as well, increments are minimal & salary is peanuts as compared to the amount of efforts you are expected to put in, HR policies are non existent thanks to the senior management which treats the employees like school children/ daily wage earners

    Advice to Management

Just because some people in the senior management are workaholics & don't have a life; it doesn't mean that nobody should have one. Solve this issue before the brain drain to other MR agencies goes out of hand
