"I worked for IMRG for five years, in which I learned what it was like to work for a professional employer."

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at IMRG full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There are a lot of opportunities for growth and the company has a family culture. They have very high expectations, and the owner of the company is totally inspiring because of her fearless attitude and can-do, never-say-die attitude.

    Cons

The pay could have been better, and the corporate office was far from our location, so there were times when decisions would be made by corporate without getting al the facts from the field offices.

    Advice to Management

Give the top-performing field offices more freedom to manage their office as long as they are not violating company policies and procedures. Give more specific praise and feedback to those who deserve it instead of just "all" the field offices collectively.

Contract holder refers to herself as "president." Terrible pay. Two 2% raises in ten years. Bad benefits that keep getting more expensive. No retirement matching. Terrible hiring practices.

I worked at IMRG full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

A pay check and resume builder.

    Cons

Ever worked for a company where you were told to feel “lucky” and “blessed” to be a part of something so “great” even though you are treated no better than a dog begging for scraps by the owner? Well that is what working working at IMRG is like. IMRG does not give raises yet raises the price of benefits each year. Emails to HR got unanswered, phone calls go unreturned, and HR lies or pretends to not know an answer...

    Advice to Management

To really be impressive and a “good company” the owner needs to offer more than she already does. Just paying people is not enough.

I have been working at IMRG full-time

    Pros

Only if you can't get a job anywhere else would this be an option. Maybe if you're just starting out and need to get something on your resume.

    Cons

Little to no training. On-site supervisors with no people management or strategic skills. No raises / incentives / poor benefits. You are contracted to the PBGC - a government agency that is just as screwed up as IMRG.

I worked at IMRG full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The work was steady. Workload tripled. The days go very fast.

    Cons

Poor management styles, No merit raises, advancement opportunities are rare and predictable. No Human Resources on-site, Lack of sufficient training for new employees.

    Advice to Management

Show genuine support for all and discourage cliquish behavior. Stop downgrading your employees to corporate office. Attempt to identify and find a solution as to why so many people are leaving. Ensure that there will be no negative consequences of reporting issues with a person(s) who is obviously in favor with leadership because he/she socializes with them and has gained a great degree of influence.

    I worked at IMRG

    Pros

Good job to get your feet wet in pension administration

    Cons

Very low pay considering the amount of work you do. What's more, employer is a federal contractor for a federal pension agency. Contract guidelines leave little wiggle room for advancment and raises. Contractor unfortunately has/is making their margins on the only cost they have: human capital expenditures. Read: your salary.

    Advice to Management

Provide more retirement security and upward mobility for employees. Increase salaries within contractual and pay corridors so that job is competitive with those in the pension administration industry. Management should strive to develop a much more harmonious relationship with all employees of company, seeing how that would make the contract and its administration go smoother.

I worked at IMRG for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible with schedule Honest about the work

    Cons

Management is very big on saying they want one thing but not following through. Does not want to acknowledge mistakes so that they can be fixed.

I have been working at IMRG for more than 5 years

    Pros

There are no pros working here. It is what it is. It has been a learning experience.

    Cons

Pay, environment, the bureaucracy, the shenanigans and office politics. Also Management has no control over office process and procedures

    Advice to Management

Invest in their employees. Have they ever heard of work life balance, pay raises and/or recognition because I have seen none for a number of years.
