Far too many politics and posturing for rank. Lack of teamwork and collaboration within IT. Poor Work / Life balance and culture.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Trusted Process, Management systems are getting better, but there are too many.

    Cons

Middle management has grown where operations as not. The company used to pride themselves on their quality and flat management. The Senior level members have no idea what it takes to run a study, and don't want to know.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and realize they are not just numbers.

    Pros

Great work/life balance, Opportunity to work from home,

    Cons

INC Research have the availability to promote diversity throughout the company especially in the IT dept.but is extremely slow on that front. Extremely, hard to get promoted if you are not a manager or in a higher position within the company.

    Advice to Management

Value and Honor the Individual Contributors in the company. Express and Execute Provide Growth and Opportunities for employees that are not in the management role. Educate Management that Individual Contributors are just as valuable to the company, and execute rewards to those employees.

I worked at INC Research full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I had the benefit of having a good team to work with, but you can really find a good team anywhere. Upper level company management employees are great motivational speakers and have great ideas, but really need to put them into play.

    Cons

Pay is below industry standard and they won't even attempt to come close to matching your salary if you are offered another position. They say they treat their employees better and work life balance is better (work load, etc.) at this CRO, but I find it to be about the same, just with less pay. So it's not worth it. It will depend on the dept. you work in and your line manager if you are flexible to work from home or not. There is a rule where you can only work from home one day a week and you cannot begin this until you have been with the company for a year. Other companies allow more days from home, and right off the bat.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your employees.

    Pros

Business side is doing well and seems to be making money hand over fist.

    Cons

Management is very poor when it comes to leadership. Worked in the IT shop and you feel like you are in a Patrick Warburton car rental commercial...you know..."What's it like to be the boss of you. Pretty great! How about a 10% raise; How about 20 %...Done! Managers are looking out for themselves at the expense of employees. These managers are great technologist but lack basic communications and leadership skills. They think they are A players and their butts are gold when they barely get a C minus. Pay is low and no promotions from within and when you show some initiative the gatekeepers come out in strength. You feel like your the second frame of a Dilbert cartoon waiting to be the joke of the punch line. These folks can not even follow their own validation procedures and have no cost controls on their projects.

    Advice to Management

Send the managers (at least the IT managers) back to "remedial" Management 101...and focus on leadership traits and communications.

Nice People, average pay. Efficient meetings.

    Cons

Terrible IT Department, can't get live people for help. Limited time for people to help you with anything. Everyone is stretched too thin.

    Advice to Management

Offer better support to staff if you want to keep people.
