I worked at INC Research full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Had good employee benefits package, fair employee compensation rates and reasonably good work environment.

    Cons

Lack of adequate supervision of managerial positions holders and inadequate attention to issues/complaints from direct reports.

    Advice to Management

Should have a better oversight/supervision of supervisors/managers and review/investigate issues/complaints raised by employees concerning their work with open mind.

I have been working at INC Research full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great co-workers and support from them

    Cons

A lot of growth and pressure and not enough people to do the job; a lot of working very fast with almost no guidance.

    Advice to Management

Improve (or just create) your systems and logistics; hire enough people to do the jobs; keep your good workers by making their jobs do-able and not a constant struggle.

I worked at INC Research full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have a fantastic onboarding and overall training program - even better than many of the larger CROs.

    Cons

Your career at INC could hinge on whether the department head liked you or not. Lots of maneuvering and strategizing needed to be done to get ahead; it wasn't a given that your job performance alone would influence your career progression. They also forced PMs living within an hour of the office to come to the office at least 3 days/wk, even though they would put up to 3 people in a cramped office due to lack of space.

I worked at INC Research full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

CEO very savvy and current about Clinical Research.
Trusted Process model has been in place for years and vast majority of sponsors appreciate its utility and collaborative approach.
Development of plans early is advantageous and smart.

    Cons

Cross-functional communication is not always encouraged.
Study start-up often lacks requisite training to understand essential document requirements.
Some upper management level employees, like at any CRO, have poor grammar, lack presentation skills and can't spell properly. This is very unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

    Train SSU early.

I have been working at INC Research full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

40 hour work week and advancement opportunities were high, but that has now slowed. Pay is direct deposited and benefits are decent.

    Cons

Low industry pay and company is moving to the RTP area from North Raleigh. Less opportunity to work from home compared to competitors.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within instead of continuing to look outside of the company and poaching competition.

    Pros

Work from home is allowed, some individuals get bonus for performance, clients are generally appreciative of good work, benefits are ok

    Cons

Extremely high workload, clinical study team members can be incompetent and will not be held accountable for poor quality work

    Advice to Management

I have been working at INC Research full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very flexible work schedule and ability to work from home if needed (Austin office). The entire company is closed for almost two weeks in December and you still receive pay.

    Cons

False promises, workload, and low pay. I have noticed a pattern with myself and colleagues who have been promised promotions but still haven't received them 8-9 months later. I have the most tasked work on my study but am lowest paid. Project Specialists are treated as assistants so they many times do a lot of work outside of their job scope. The starting rate of pay is pretty low and it takes a long time to get a promotion or significant raise.

    Advice to Management

Be honest with employees on promotion timelines.
