I worked at ING full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are pretty good and the work is very challenging. This company has just separate from its parent company and there are a lot of opportunities to grow.

    Cons

There are a lot of "priority" projects which are "most Important" Very difficult to get direction on which one is the "fire drill of the day"

    Advice to Management

Communication is still an issue and training is not encouraged for that matter even available.

I worked at ING as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great people
    Challenging projects
    Gym at site
    Cafeteria on site
Able to join real meetings and projects
    Lunch and Learns

    Cons

They did not have a offering stage of the internship to be a full-time employee. Seems as though you work as intern and hired to full-time with no break in between, essentially only good for graduated students.

I have been working at ING full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary, People you work with, challenging, Ability to WFH some, Flexible work location

    Cons

Red tape. Being an insurance and financial company, audits are all the time. Willingness to spend to stay cutting edge

    Pros

The managers work with you and are very helpful with you in the learning process. The employees I worked along with were helpful and knowledgeable as well.

    Cons

It seemed like it was difficult to move up or around to different sectors of the company. I would have like to see more opportunities to move around the company for better experience.

    Advice to Management

Management was very helpful, but I would like to see a better management program where employees can move up in the company and work in different sectors.

    Pros

Multinational company with European mindset, lots of growth opportunities across geographical & capital markets; Diversified offerings; Stable company. Very smart people (nobody less than a MBA where I was); mostly young crowd

    Cons

Sub groups have too much autonomy that could make your work hell or heaven. No consistency in culture because of some people's own agenda. Few weak managers cause the system to break down. Can get too focused on meeting targets.

    Advice to Management

Encourage management learning & frequent reviews, to gauge their effectiveness, not just focus on numbers. Implement an employee engagement program.

  10. "Good company to work for in the financial services industry."

    Pros

ING is a global financial services firm with lots of opportunity for those looking for a chance to work for a dynamic company almost anywhere in the world. Being active in the fields of banking, insurance and asset management, there are a variety of opportunities in different practice areas.

    Cons

The strategic focus and direction towards banking, insurance and asset management is not always clear. Being a large company, it has its share of red tape and processes. This has to be expected though. Due to growth through acquisitions, the IT infrastructure as been difficult to integrate over the years leading to some technology frustrations.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.
