I have been working at INOVA Diagnostics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management and the coworkers are great. Lots of opportunities for continuing education if desired or getting involved in different projects across the company.

Healthcare, dental and vision benefits are great.

    Cons

People mostly get hired through temp agencies, which prevents you from having insurance while on "trial period".

The pay is less then in most similar companies across San Diego.

I worked at INOVA Diagnostics full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits and perks
    Open door policies
    Excellent safety protocols
    Caring and thoughtful HR team
Many opportunities to learn new skills
    Advancement opportunities
    Career Development

    Cons

People who work in labs tend to be negative (this is a generalization, not specific to Inova). It's difficult to stay positive in a lab with such prominent negative energy.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I have been working at INOVA Diagnostics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Growing company with good leadership and career opportunities

    Cons

Plenty of people have complained of low compensation over the years. But overall, I feel the benefits + compensation are fair, and it's a good work environment/culture.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

People there are great. There are opportunities to learn, but you really need to pursue them yourself. Bosses are approachable, and in most cases, very helpful.

    Cons

Advancement opportunities are fairly rare. They only seem to promote a select few, and, in many cases, the promotions seemed political rather than by merit. Because of the low pay, most people leave within a few years, so there are usually several new employees in each group.

    Pros

Fun environment, pretty relaxed bosses that don't get on you unless you are not getting your work done.

    Cons

Don't really want you to get promoted

I worked at INOVA Diagnostics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The benefits, people and office location are great.

    Cons

The manger to worker ratio is very high. Too much time is spent on reporting to management rather than getting the job done.

    Pros

Will hire fresh out of college which provides the "experience" needed for other jobs. Great introduction to a GMP and ISO approved work environment. Smallish company with great culture.

REALLY good healthy benefits and 401K

The hours at this company for most people are 7-3:30pm which is great for having a life outside of work.

    Cons

Growth is difficult at this company. The company picks and chooses who will grow and develop their careers at this company, while everyone else stays stagnant.

I have been working at INOVA Diagnostics full-time

    Pros

If you never worked in a lab and have a college degree, they will hire you. Don't work here if you have any lab experience!!! You are better off waiting.
Fun other young employees for the most part but anyone with half a mind leaves after a year

    Cons

    Most things!
Pay is horrible and they don't give raises based on performance which is insane. I am currently doing more work than the senior lab staff and they refused to even ask for a raise from HR. AVOID if you can!!!

    Advice to Management

Get management with an education instead of promoting senior employees that have been around forever the positions. They can't manage and it's embarrassing.

I have been working at INOVA Diagnostics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers. More days off than other companies (We get MLK and Presidents' Day off). Full health care. Great products. I really enjoy working for this company.

    Cons

Less pay than other companies offer. I started as a temp., making $15 per hour. My job recruiter said I would make more when I was hired on as full-time. When that happened, I had to enter heavy negotiations for 50 cents more per hour.

    Advice to Management

This is a great company to gain experience. Unfortunately, after 3 or 4 years, you can literally make 20-25 percent more just by switching companies. You may be able to keep competent employees after that time frame by offering raises based on dollar amount for anyone making under $20 an hour.

    Pros

Great company going through tough growing pains.

    Cons

Company is going through growing pains, has unrealistic sales goals, unrealistic production expectations from employees, and overall underpaid for most positions.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach, retain good employees, compensate those who go above and beyond, don't expect employees to have to work overtime, and or if salary be available 24/7. People do have personal lives outside of work, just like executive management.
