I have been working at IP Casino, Resort and Spa full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The only thing good about this place is the guest and the coworkers. The shift management is pretty cool.

    Cons

The General Managmant and the Company could careless about their emploees. They work you as if you are two or three people.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to care about your people and not work them like mules. Listen to what they have to tell you and not shut them down.

    Pros

Not a lot to say that's positive, you don't have to clock out for lunch.

    Cons

Terrible communication and managers that should have a manager title.

I worked at IP Casino, Resort and Spa full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It is a decent break joint.

    Cons

Total disregard to business best practices or employee development. Management doesn't pretend to care about employees. Table games procedures and policies are ill defined, sporadically enforced (unless there is an incident, in which case they fire you) and not communicated to employees.

    Advice to Management

    Hire real casino professionals .

    Pros

competitive pay with other similar businesses
fair and friendly lower management with personal connectivity
    standard benefits
    food and some retail discounts

    Cons

consistently low staffed thus customers get horrible service
upper management doesn't listen to employee's suggestions
raises aren't always offered and whey they are, they're 1% /yr
not allowed to stay at the hotel or utilise the full potential of the property, even as a paying guest

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees suggestions, they're the ones out in the "field" seeing what you can't, knowing what you don't, and experiencing what you never will

I worked at IP Casino, Resort and Spa full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

IP Casino has very friendly employees, and pays moderately well.

    Cons

After the buyout from Boyd, insurance copays were raised to be almost worthless, the employee cafeteria was degraded to the point of being inedible, and the management seems to be looking for what to do to get sold.

    Advice to Management

Hotel Management style of a casino never works long term. It takes Casino Oriented management to keep valued players returning.
