    Pros

Good entry-level position. I'm learning a lot. Training is a bit tough but write it down and ask lots of questions.

    Cons

Lots of work but like I said ask your supervisor or co workers questions of you get confused. They'll be happy to help.

I worked at IPG Mediabrands full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good hard working people that care about the clients they work on.

    Cons

Senior management is a rotating cast of people with different objectives. Clients are not the primary focus. Fundamental media planning an after-thought.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the good people.

    Pros

Nicely designed office, nice work and balance.

    Cons

The Data Warehouse department is not existing. After the management change, all professionals are gone and the new management simply does know what is BI and Data Warehousing is about. They just play low level politics to hide the reality from their bosses. No technology learning nor professional advance.

    Advice to Management

Change the BI and Data Warehouse department, rebuilt from ground up.

I have been working at IPG Mediabrands full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice offices, good locations and good networking

    Cons

Pay is very low for most, and there is a huge pay gap between men and women in the New York offices. But my main reason for leaving a review is because the very poor work/life balance in new business. I commonly work 80 to 100 hours of overtime a month and upper management looks the other way. Several members of the team clearly suffer from poor mental health (sometimes even physical) because of overworking. Not only is it depressing that most members of our team see less than 10 hours of sunlight a week, but even more depressing is that the holidays and weekends also require work 50-75% of the time. All personal relationships suffer. You cannot make plans outside of work and count on them following through. Some people here seem to love and take pride that work is their entire life, however most are tremendously suffering. There is a high turnover rate and complete dishonesty in the interviewing process.

    Advice to Management

Be human and promote humanity in the workplace. I am sad to say, and i know you know, that my experience is not dramatized

I have been working at IPG Mediabrands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was surrounded by intelligent individuals which helped my own career growth. The specific office I was in fostered a very welcoming company culture. Overall an extremely positive experience.

    Cons

Client's needs were transparently secondary to the profit hungry upper management. This has resulted in several key losses over the past few years.

    Pros

The Best and the brightest colleagues. Impressive clients and innovative media.
Was able to work with account managers and directly with clients to explore messaging across new platforms and distribution venues.

    Cons

Only wish was that it was not such a huge company with so many individual companies under its corporate umbrella and that navigating it might have been easier.

I have been working at IPG Mediabrands full-time

    Pros

Close to public transit; offices are nice... free drinks, coffee and beer.

Your coworkers will likely be highly skilled and you can learn a lot about the industry from those around you.Teams are very tight-knit and you'll make some great friends.

Benefits are excellent—401K, great healthcare plans, transit reimbursement, paid leave & floating holiday days (if you get time to use them).

    Cons

NO sense of work-life balance. You WILL end up working late often, and sometimes even weekends. None of this will be mentioned during interviews or the onboarding process. This could be easily solved by better project management.

Terrible communication between departments when working on interdepartmental projects and workflow is nonexistent. LOTS of politics currently; many departments are being shaken up due to holding-company level changes.

Middle management is ineffective and often "passes the buck" to junior employees.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees' work-life balance higher or they will leave and compound the issues that are already present. Manager Training is needed to produce more effective leaders!

    Pros

Working for IPG gave me great learning experience and confidence to continue working within the media industry.

    Cons

The cons with this company was the lack of growth and the salary. The salary was below average.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to increase salary and decease costs on things such as free lunch for employees.
