I worked at IQVIA part-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities, pretty decent salary and benefits. Lots of exceptional people to work with.

    Cons

IMS was a fantastic company when I first joined in 2003, but I saw a major downhill spiral in terms of integrity when the company went private and took on new management. They went on an acquisition tear and hired lots of new blood, especially in the business development functions. The company became way too political, with lots of beaurocracy and plenty of sell-outs. I came to find that the more politically savvy you are (i.e. not afraid to step on people and lie to clients), the faster you will get ahead. I watched some of the best employees get squeezed out or laid off. It just wasn't for me and so I chose to move on.

    Advice to Management

Figure out who your loyal employees are....the ones who have been around and know the products and services best. Those are the ones to take care of and put in front of the customer.

    Pros

    Challenging work and nice facilities.

    Cons

Over reliance on off shore resources; no company paid education or professional enrichment; senior management overly focused on short term gains.

    Advice to Management

It's apalling how the local technical staff has been desimated in favor of cheap offshore resources that have no knowledge of this highly technical companies subject matter to the point of jeopardizing the abilty to support critical systems and processes just to save a buck.

    Pros

Tons of flexibility in work hours including work from home. Decent pay and benefits as well.

    Cons

Large company so not as tight knit as some might like. You probably won't be best friends with your coworker but almost everyone seems to get along great so the work environment is productive and professional.

    Advice to Management

Work harder to keep good talent from leaving

I worked at IQVIA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In the PM location there was once a great team. They were the best in the industry at understanding the market, asking the right questions, anticipating client needs, delivering high quality work, working hard, and professionalism and respect. People that worked there were truly part of something special.

    Cons

Leadership that plays favorites, ignores real issues with the management and staff, tolerates unprofessional people, no vision, no sales capability, poor delivery capability, entitled delivery team that thinks the world is owed to them, and a senior leadership that doesn't care to address anything real, content with letting good people leave this group because it's too troublesome to kick out the toxic seniors and poor performers and hold people accountable.

    Advice to Management

Dump the unprofessionals and leader that lacks vision. Beg the high performers to return and save the team. If not, just let it die.
