"Good contract, new merger hacked away benefits"

    Pros

The contract project is great. Unique opportunity with great flexibility. Interviewing was made easy and questions were answered as they came up.

    Cons

Uncertainty future with company. Things are constantly changing. The company recently went through with a merger and removed some benefits. Maternity has been cut down to 4 weeks, which is an embarrassment. Domestic partnership option has been removed from benefits which seems discriminatory. Don’t have questions for HR because there is no one to ask. IT department needs an overhaul.

    Advice to Management

If they want to be competitive in the field and keep quality employees they shouldn’t be removing benefits. They need to diversify in order to modernize instead of going in to opposite direction. It’s extremely disappointing and nerve wracking to see your benefits cut down in the middle of a contract. Benefits were not great or competitive to begin with.

I have been working at IQVIA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, good 401k match, 3 weeks vacation, good health insurance, yearly gym allowance, etc. Flexibility to work from home when needed. Great technology, more advance than many well known companies. Update laptops every two or 3 years. Company phone, corporate credit card, etc., etc., etc.

    Cons

I used to be so proud to work for Quintiles but after the merge (not so much a merge, more so an acquisition) things are not the same. As a CRO the patients used to be put first, now it is about the money. The employees don’t feel secure anymore and there is no stability.

    Advice to Management

Go back to be the most ethical company and listen to the employees.

    Pros

Flexibility, telecommuting, good 401K and pension for old timers, helpful coworkers

    Cons

Not much career growth, funnel is reversed, upper management

Develop and promote internal folks who have been here for 10, 15 or 20 years than bring someone from outside with no IMS experience.

I worked at IQVIA as a contractor

    Pros

Potential exists for a wonderful work experience

    Cons

    But also for complete frustration

    Advice to Management

With a high degree of "silo" type work structure, it all depends who you are working for and who you report to... which are often different entities with different goals. There is also too much keeping the buck, but passing the responsibility for achieving results along the next silo.
