I worked at ITG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Hours are very reasonable and the pay, although not nearly on par with traditional wall street firms, is good for a job where you can be out by 6 every day.

    Cons

Sterilized environment. They went way politically correct after the SEC violation and it kills the fun. Because it's such an average corporate environment there are a lot of middle aged Directors that really don't do all too much.

    Advice to Management

Cull the hard-on for political correctness and gratuitous diversity and start focus on genuinely building a team of people that enjoy working together.

    I worked at ITG full-time

    Pros

Location is really good. don't remember anything positive about the company itself.

    Cons

Its by far the worst place I have ever worked- ever. Even some summer jobs that I did as a student can't compare to the traumatic experience at ITG Dublin office.

-The systems are outdated, from mid 20th century- and apparently technology is their second name.
    - Old fashioned business models and processes.
-Obvious social engineering techniques used by management. awkward
-Team spirit- I doubt they have ever heard this term. Team members would often implicate others during the meeting in front of everybody (?!)
    - Long hours are expected and I was told it is part of the culture.
    - CFO doesn't seem to be noticing some employees, avoids eye contact and doesn't say hello. Again awkward and unprofessional at the same time.
-Company offers good health insurance package - be careful you might really need it after few months in this place.

    Advice to Management

Read about modern management styles and the value of employees instead of pushing them to work impossible hours.

I have been working at ITG full-time

    Pros

work/life balance and stress level can be pretty manageable for employees in the general finance area

    Cons

compensation has been flat for years now, no real opportunities for upwards advancement. most of the time people are stuck doing the same tasks for years.

    Advice to Management

recognize the back office individuals who help to keep the company running from an operational POV. provide opportunities to move up vertically

I have been working at ITG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Opportunities abound for making positive changes and continually improving service to clients
    - Excellent management support for Proof-of-Concept ideas; with global reach once passing incubation
    - Strategic operating plans provides global visibility of how/where we are moving
    - Meritocracy, colleagues who push each other to improve

    Cons

    - Time zones & many regional offices: requires intense early mornings and afternoon communication (based out of London). There is travel to address & improve face-to-face communication.
    - Disappointing to read about SEC fines in the news when first joining

    Advice to Management

Continue to balance top down strategy and bottom up advice/ideas/cassandras.
