I worked at ITT full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay and Benefits great for this area.

    Cons

Mainly want cogs in the system only money is only thing on their mind. If you have any personal or family issues you may want to look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Try and go back to the family oriented company they used to be before ITT bought Goulds pumps.

I worked at ITT full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Best team experience, I felt connected and engaged with different departments. Most individuals are kind and genuinely want to help improve the customer experience. By working together and getting to know the other departments, I was able to expand my own skill set.

    Cons

What connected everyone was the dissatisfaction with manipulative, greedy management. At least they were consistent. "People don't leave jobs, they leave managers"

    Advice to Management

People know when management is not genuine and when "appreciation statements" are forced. We talk with one another, compare notes and recognize inconsistencies. You aren't fooling anyone, and everyone in the industry knows it.

I have been working at ITT full-time

    Pros

ITT has great workforce and middle level management teams. There are some exceptional senior leaders and if you are looking for a challenging work environment, this is the right place to be in

    Cons

Over the past several years, senior leadership at all levels appears to have lost touch with reality. They have been taking a very myopic vision of the issues and continue failing to change the course of this once great company in the right direction.

    Advice to Management

Care, respect recognize and listen to your employees. They are the blood of the organization and understand the business way better than you give them credit for. Layoffs may be good to a certain extent, but when you sacrifice your workforce for shortsighted goals, the company looses in the end.

I have been working at ITT full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Only good thing is that in middle and lower management people are helpful to each. But with so many layoffs these people are becoming rare.

    Cons

A well known company, whose downfall I am seeing day by day. A top down management which changes every 2-3 years. Currently there is no vision and the lives on quarterly basis. If Wall Street targets are not being met, layoff the people which is not the right solution. Matured and somewhat technology obsolete product-line both in Industrial and Aerospace (Control Technology). I think they have lost the way.

I worked at ITT full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has the opportunity to be dominant in its industry. Unfortunately, management turns over so fast that continuity is lost.

    Cons

The turnover issue is compounded by the replacement manager has a new direction and communicates the failures of prior staff. Loyalty is not regarded as a positive quality.

    Advice to Management

    Think beyond the quarter.
