I worked at IUCN full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice place to work and combination of other organisations in building and close by means it is useful to make contacts with everybody

    Cons

Interns have too short a period to learn the job but it is very good experience as a stepping stone for other jobs

    Advice to Management

The systems of admin are a little old fashioned and conditions are not being improved for international staff and in some cases are rather poor comparatively to UN conditons

I worked at IUCN full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is potential to make great impact if management is serious.

    Cons

No intellectual stimulation. If you give any idea that is different from the management, they get rid of you as they are so small-minded to feel any idea they didn't come up with is a criticism of them. Corruption, nepotism, false communication stories, arrogant, no vision, spreading lies and rumors are the norm and taken to an art form. Back-biting against each other, no principles, no ethic, no integrity.

    Advice to Management

Needs complete revamp. See what others have already said about the management. They want workers that are robots and who will only obey orders. Donors and headquarters should investigate Asia Regional Office.

    Pros

IUCN is a very huge network and is recognized globally as a very credible organization. It is extremely good learning platform and provides immense exposure to young and mid-carrier professionals

    Cons

It is being very badly managed due to self-centered senior managers and also those having vested interests. Due to limited structure, the organization has now growth opportunities.

    Advice to Management

Improve management, get ride of selfish managers and strategically focus on market trends
