I have been working at IUPUI part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Diverse research choices, great research experience, resume builder, a good chance to work with other students as co-workers, continue learning outside of the classroom, decent pay during the summer.

    Cons

Possibility of working with unhelpful students, mentors, and other professors. The pay during the school year is very low. Work hours may vary depending on the subject matter of your research.

    Advice to Management

Professors should make sure that their students equally contribute. Professors should also be mentoring students, helping them learn and grow as workers and researchers.

    Pros

I have been working at IUPUI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are great; retirement and insurance are very competitive. Work environment is good too if you stay away from politics.

    Cons

Depending on where you start, not a lot of vertical mobility; may have to make lateral changes to progress in career. Retirement and insurance are only benefits. Have to pay $400+ annually to park on campus. Depending on position, will be compared to similar compensation classes to determine pay to avoid "inequity" even if you are doing more work than someone in the same compensation class.
