I have been working at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

They pay postdocs higher than NIH standard. They have housing assistance for the first 3 years as a postdoc. They have amazing health insurance if you get the top tier plan and use it at Mount Sinai.

    Cons

There are a number of hoops you have to jump through because they apply things from the hospital to basic researchers as well.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good vacation time, work from home opp.

    Cons

Many cons, volume of work is unreasonable, increased work volume not planned for, no room for growth, rare raises. Sr. Management is constantly admired and praised but no one else. Expect to work nights, weekends and have every vacation day interrupted. Working 70 hours a week is deemed normal. There has been a lot of turnover in 2019-2020 and unfortunately the institutions science will suffer due to this. Those who left are exhausted from years of being pushed to to the limited with volume and unfair expectations.
