I have been working at Iceland Foods part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There is a collective mentality, strong recruitment mix of ages in the workforce and rate of pay is in line with living standards.

    Cons

Work benefits are nominal or sporadic at best. Commitment is not well rewarded. management incompetence varies massively between stores.

    Advice to Management

Remove distance from the lower levels of employment - encourage more transparency and act faster on change.

I have been working at Iceland Foods part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Usually decent pay - it has fluctuated from minimum to above minimum in the past few years. Dynamic environment, friendly colleagues and customers are generally nice.

    Cons

Some managers don't listen or communicate well depending on stores. Work hours, no medium between having too many or too little. Hard to get asked days off in a work week. Training employees seems to have become a hit and miss thing depending on stores. Some standards are unrealistic for the lack of allocated hours per store.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to your front line staff, offer them hours rather than hire extra bodies. Upper management seem more and more disconnected to the stores struggles even though they keep trying to appear as though they understand.

I have been working at Iceland Foods part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Slightly more than minimum wage but it’ll just rise to the minimum wage in April.

    Cons

Instore Home Delivery is chaos! Customers threatening not to come back. Lack of hours - expected to travel into work for a 3hr shift is maddening. Work/life balance is too pro on life & forgets I actually need to money to live. Allocate more hours.

    Advice to Management

Have more than 1 person on checkout! No customers should have to queue down the isles. Have a dedicated checkout for baskets/under 10 items so they don’t have to wait behind a +£100 Home delivery for 10 minutes. Especially when they haven’t even signed up to your Bonus card & I need to input ALL their details at the till... hello GDPR! Customers don’t like handing out their details in front of a massive, pissed off...

I worked at Iceland Foods for less than a year

    Pros

Plenty customers coming through Easy to work on tills

    Cons

Pay once you’ve left if you’re on benefits Home delivery managing in store is a pain Staff never answer to open another till

    Advice to Management

Stop giving payments out to temp staff long after they’ve finished their contract because it knackers up their benefits big time
