I worked at Icing by Claire's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The atmosphere and customers are really positive and fun, when employees are responsible and take on a decent amount of initiative then its a great team environment to learn the basics of retail operations.

    Cons

Under employed, undermanaged, people have been jumping ship for quite a long time now and it only got worse since the bankruptcy was announced. Even the customers have been avoiding us now because the store is bursting at the seems with bad merchandise in some areas, and bare shelves where the merchandise that people used to come to the store for in the first place. we are now a toy store that actually appears to be going out of business.

    Advice to Management

People used to go to claires for accessories and all things pretty. Now its a toy store and its always a total mess. employees struggle to maintain the store and do basic upkeep and tasks because we are now picking up toys that have been torn apart children and the damaged items are now at record highs, as well as a complete disreguard for the reason why people originally went to our stores, not for toys, but for glam and fun fashion products. no one cares for us anymore because a majority of what we sell now is toys and candy and what made us great is now better found online for half the price. coorporate needs to stop overwhelming employees with too much junk that we cant maintain, and get back to what made us great.

    Pros

Love the discount. Loved working on the POG! Excited to see what new items were coming in shipment
     Great management.

    Cons

Having to stay and work as result of someone not coming to work.

    Advice to Management

Managers should have one weekend off a month.

I worked at Icing by Claire's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The only pro that I could think of is that you get 50% off as an employee

    Cons

Management on both the Lowe and upper levels are rude. I worked there in September-June and at lease 7 people have quit during my time there. They do not care about employees. The way they push Ear Piercings should be commissioned. Too stressful.

    Advice to Management

    Do better.

    I worked at Icing by Claire's full-time

    Pros

    Nice coworkers
    Good Discount
Not hard when theirs is enough staff
    Thats all

    Cons

    In the store by yourself
Hard to take breaks or bathroom breaks
    People steal all the time
I remember being in the store by myself and having to work the register, pierce ears and look out for shop lifters.
Third key managers don't get paid enough at all for all they have to do.
After closing time you have to drive at least 4 miles to the bank.
Company does not care about theft because they don't prosecute.

    Advice to Management

Stop being stingy on the payroll and hire more people to keep over stressing your employees.
    Prosecute shop lifters!!

I worked at Icing by Claire's part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great company
    Customers are always great
    register system and ear pricing

    Cons

    Management
The former coworkers were childish ( twerking when customers were in store, yelling across the store, and being on company phone with a friend)
Had major problems with gossip coworkers to managers etc.
Doesn't give hours unless they like you.

    Advice to Management

Hire women/men who are not only going to bring the store great customers, but also have better people who are not going to act unprofessional and acting like immature "high school" mentality.
