I have been working at Idera Software full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Flexibility for productivity
Trust that is earned after time with the company
Making a difference on a large scale
    Taking pride in your work
Working at a company that is constantly growing

    Cons

The expansion of product lines comes with sacrifices, especially from a competitive standpoint.
When assessing performance, it is hard to explain everything that needs to be taken into account - without coming off the wrong way.
Hiring, firing, and people leaving for their own benefit happens fast.
Slow, slow, slow road to promotions.
Not so great reputation from previous employee assessments.

    Advice to Management

Employees that have been with the company and proven their value should be recognized and compensated accordingly. Put yourself in the shoes of the people below you and proactively try to do what you feel is right. "Paying your employees well is not only the right thing to do but it makes for good business." -JS

I have been working at Idera Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fast paced and flexible work environment. You feel like you are a part of a big family.

    Cons

For the sales reps, base salary is lower than average but commissions are good. Good earning potential for determined sales people, no commissions cap.

    Advice to Management

The benefits could be better and there need to be a career path for employees of you want to keep them.

I have been working at Idera Software full-time

    Pros

The products, people and mgmt. are great. I've been here almost a year and having nothing bad to say. If you work hard (key word: work) then you will be rewarded nicely. You have all the tools to be successful. Some younger people may not realize what they have when they start here, but several people have left the co only to come back a few years later. That says a lot. This place is a well oiled machine and offer great products.

    Cons

Territory changes, but that's to be expected.

    Advice to Management

None, you're doing a great job.. Best CEO, Executive team, Sales Director and Sales Manager I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Thank you for the opportunity.

    Pros

    Market leading products. Casual attire.

Great entry level software sales gig.

    Cons

It's a daily grind connected to a metrics board that's viewed as more of a life monitor for the rep! They like to shake up territories regularly, so you never really get a good base of relationships within your accounts. The term "transactional" is used quite a bit although it's mostly a relational sell.

    Everyone truly wants out!

    Advice to Management

Sales training for the kids joining straight out of college that management notes to "sink or swim".

STOP spending company money on old hair bands and make a greater contribution to the sales org.

Having fun is great, but spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a events where a handful of people are invited is not a great moral booster.

Industry and deal knowledge from the key account managers.

Seems like a handful of reps are being taken care of and the rest are whipped trying to perform.

    Pros

Fast paced environment, high growth, low cost, inside sales model.
If you work hard, add value, and are adaptable you will succeed.
Aggressive approach to expense model with profit sharing.
Healthy balance of growth organically and inorganically.
    Measured on results.

    Cons

    High Growth = Growing Pains
No company match program for 401K plan

    Advice to Management

Managing risk is key and change comes with failure and success. Continue to embrace both.

    Pros

This is not the company you are looking for
Keep on moving NOTHING to see here!

    Cons

Terrible place to work - its a bit like an old 1980's calling floor.
AWFUL attitude from the CEO and SMT
Targets are completely unachievable - but dont mention it you boos or there will be trouble
The CEO cant be trusted, has no respect for his staff and treats employees like costs.
Its his way or the highway ... He loves to say "my door is always open, if you think i have made a bum call - tell me with facts ... " . but really he means "you're fired"

    Advice to Management

Treat staff like human beings - tell them whats happening .. Remember this, Trust has to be earned, and first comes RESPECT ...

I have been working at Idera Software full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun co-workers, great potential to make large commissions, excellent insurance benefits, really fun company quarterly events. Finally implemented adequate training. CEO loves to have a blast. He's very cool!

    Cons

It's a major grind. Metrics are watched like a hawk. They can either help you or hurt you. In a lot of ways they set you up to fluff them to avoid reprimand. There's one leader you'll find quickly, who enjoys messing with people's heads. They will tell you to do one thing, you do it, they tell you its wrong and when you say you told them to do it they will deny it. They will even deny they approved discount approvals. Get everything bit of instruction or approvals in an email! If you do something you're told and it flops, you'll get thrown under the bus.

    Advice to Management

e straight forward with people. Don't mess with people's psyche for your own pleasure. Remember instructions you give and own it when it fails. Let people do their job according to instruction and trust them to succeed. Your current style hurts morale and confidence.
