I have been working at Illinois Central College part-time

    Pros

I enjoy having students come to me who want help, and to be able to help them.

    Cons

Management seems much more concerned with statistics and superficials than with helping students. They've let go excellent supervisors and replaced them with poor or mediocre ones.

I worked at Illinois Central College part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Students are great. Teaching is rewarding.

    Cons

Recent secret "purging" of Adjuncts by Administration is not the College's finest hour. A new faculty qualification policy went into affect in September. Faculty members were not notified until Thanksgiving. Some faculty with a high level of professional experience judged "unqualified."

    Advice to Management

Treat your faculty with respect. Thanksgiving surprise unwelcome.

Great place to work. Friendly coworkers, flexible schedule. Institution is very focused on providing the best experience to their students.

    Cons

While the institution is working on this issue, there is not a great deal of growth (in terms of the student/client base).
