I have been working at Illuminate Education full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Illuminate has some incredible people working here. The majority of folks are truly here because they want to do what’s best for students and teachers. They are a growing company, so they’re trying to still have a start-up feel while scaling. I have never worked with such a hard-working, talented group of people who also have such great hearts.

    Cons

I have faith in Max, but the remaining leadership put in place during the Lane era needs to go. People are treated horribly and gossiped about by leadership leading to an incredibly immature and, at times, toxic workplace. The CTO alone is going to ruin this place. It is embarrassing to call him a leader in our company.

I worked at Illuminate Education full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Paid on time... that’s it.

    Cons

Unbelievably terrible organization. Chaotic, disorganized, dishonest. I’ve worked with organizations who have gone through significant change and acquisitions.... this is absolutely no excuse for the way they’re running this business. Read all of the bad reviews. They are all very real. If you get a job here, do not expect to keep it for long. The good reviews comes from a sad effort to cover this up and making current employees write them - all of which truthfully and openly feel the same as every one star reviewer. There are so many great companies out there. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. Trust your gut on this one and walk away.
