    Cons

    - With a new category / solution like illumio, finding the right marketing message is always a challenge with a company this stage. - Processes have been changing but that is expected with a company at this stage - There isn't a 401K match program yet

    Advice to Management

Keep focusing on the culture, customer and an amazing product.

I have been working at Illumio full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

There is a lot of change happening, but it's clear many people care deeply for the success of the company and show it. The start-up perks are still there (food, WFH, pets in the office, good opportunities for promotion, good PTO situation), and growth is still happening. Tight knit teams with both long-tenured folks and new ones. There are far worse places to work, and good work is still acknowledged and appreciated....

    Cons

The transition from start-up to the next stage has been rough. Communication has become poorer than it was, E-team is more elusive and their attempts to humanize themselves to the rest of the company are lacking. New executive members have not made a graceful or considerate entrance into the company, and it has caused more tension and skepticism for employees about their future here and their significance.

    Advice to Management

Morale is important. People can handle the truth when it is offered earnestly. Practice what you preach and remember that no company was successful without all the people doing the work. If the company is not empowered by those leading the way, they have no reason to empower the product- or anything else.

I have been working at Illumio full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Illumio is filled with smart people who care about the company and its success. The product and the company has been successful and it is good to be a part of that success. There is a lot of opportunity here as Illumio goes through this rapid growth phase and you gain the experience of being here throughout this transformation.

    Cons

There are some growing pains as Illumio transitions from the startup it once was.

    Advice to Management

Stay true to the original company values regardless of how big you get. Continue to focus on people as the highest priority.

    Pros

Interesting product Challenging problems to solve Lots of smart and nice people

    Cons

I have been working at Illumio full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Good benefits: company pays 100% of insurance premiums for full time employees and 75$% for qualified dependents; gym reimbursement; free lunch, and fully stocked kitchen.

    Cons

I have never felt compelled to write a negative review of any employer, because I think its crappy to go negative on someone who paid your salary. It has been hearing all the painful stories from ex-coworkers that finally compelled me to put out a word of warning, in the interest of fairness, to anyone considering working here. I've never experienced a more miserable, unfulfilling and dissonant working situation in my...

I have been working at Illumio full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Some very smart and dedicated people Work \ Life balance is ok Flexible working hours and nice building

    Cons

Employees are treated like expendable commodities. Certain senior staff (start with recent hire) create an extremely toxic workplace environment (I'm in not in the G&A team, but the entire company can see what is happening in that organization) Poor performers, especially senior staff favorites, are not exited from the company. (Our team in engineering has a couple low performers who should've 'been exited out...

    Advice to Management

Create a culture and environment where employees are valued Exit out senior staff who help create a toxic and non-professional workplace culture and environment. (cancer spreads) Have enough courage to admit when course correction is needed and take strong action, especially related to culture destroying, toxic senior staff Have a bonus system that is equitable and transparent

I have been working at Illumio full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    1. Executive leadership 2. Passionate and smart engineers 3. A product area with very few competitors

    Cons

All the cons are related to Engineering 1. Toxic Engineering culture where all engineers (and Product management) need to bow to one long-standing engineer else risk get shot down 2. Collaboration with other folks on your work is strongly discouraged. This culture makes every person fend for himself/herself 3. The concept of Team work is implicitly discouraged. 4. I have been working at Illumio full-time

    Pros

Potential to radically change data center security industry.

    Cons

In the past six months, a lot of little things have changed and all for the worse. Now, the company feels like it has one giant problem - and, people do not want to work here anymore.

    Advice to Management

Follow the published company culture. The "Company Culture" says one thing and the executives demonstrate entirely other behaviors.

    Pros

Lunches Everyday Some smart people but Illumio does not listen to them Great building

    Cons

Benefits not the best Toxic atmosphere No one wants to make a decision because if you are right no one cares but if you are wrong you get pointed out and blamed There is no team work in this start-up Upper management has no clue on how to sell our one product

    Advice to Management

Need to turn over the whole executive team before it's to late. If you are going to ask your employees to work hard at least give them decent benefits. Looking to get out fast before the ship sinks
