      Pros

Great people, amazing tool set, easy to learn new tool set on a job if you already know what you doing.

      Cons

Only downside is to work in this industry really not even Imageworks. Is job security in this Industry doesn't exist.

Great company, but a lot has changed since I left in 2006

      Pros

Great people, close-knit community, interesting projects, and good springboard to other media companies. Within software department, there is little micro managing and managers provide a lot of flexibility in work hours

      Cons

In software department, there is little growth. Must transition to production side (which is very difficult) to have more of a career. Since I left in 2006, there have been a lot of layoffs, and many of the production side jobs have been moved to India and New Mexico (I have heard), which negates one of the biggest upsides, the close-knit community. Other than Spiderman, they haven't had any big hits, so they will need some of their animated movies to hit soon to stay afloat.

The real question is, how do you feel about Vancouver?

      Pros

Great people to work with. Great Talent.

      Cons

Like any visual Effects company hours can be long and intense. It's hard to tell whether you will be kept around to move onto another show. If there is another show. Recent push to move to employees Vancouver to help the companies bottom line.

      Pros

Great people Good projects Good pay Overall a very cool environment

      Cons

Last few years there is a big shift in moving a lot of the work to Canada. Not imageworks' fault, but the entire vfx/animation industry is in growing pains now, and it can be felt all across.

      A nice place to work

      Pros

Nice location, great people, good level of support and benefits from Japanese corporate overlords. Great development group - lots of innovative software and smart people.

      Cons

Artists are no longer kept on staff - people are rotating in and out all the time. Used to claim to have a 'startup-like atmosphere' - can't claim that anymore.

      Pros

Imageworks was a fun place to work. There were long hours at times, but great people. I would gladly work there again.

      Cons

The long hours, as mentioned above, could be tiring at times. But they did their best to always minimize the impact.

      Pros

Getting to work on movies, great people, able to have time to learn and develop new skills sets

      Cons

Hey is not great, Canfield pigeonholed after a couple years, upper management is only seeking profitsbecause the industry itself is so hammered by tax incentives
