I worked at Imagination Technologies full-time

    Pros

they hire a lot of young, inexperienced engineers, so if you're a young, inexperienced engineer, you'll meet a lot of people like you there.

    Cons

low pay for engineers (however, some sales staff drive very exotic cars, so that may not be true for them.) micromanagement, lots of bureaucracy and politics. offices all over with management in KL, lots and lots of new graduates. US office seems like it's only there for H1Bs or a perk for UK employees to live in the US. one would probably have a more enjoyable career at almost any other company you can name... not to mention the worthless playmoney stock.

    Advice to Management

why not just close all US offices and move operations directly to india?

I have been working at Imagination Technologies full-time

    Pros

The people are great people but the new CFO and CEO only cares about meeting numbers.

    Cons

The work environment is extremely depressing. A lot of unhappy people. Not the kind of place that you would want to join at this time with all the uncertainties and restructuring.

    Pros

decent starting salary but you no growth prospect. people get like 1 increment in 2-3 years.
    Office hours are flexible.

    Cons

Terrible management: not concerned about their employees' well being, no social events
Salary: decent starting salary but less to less - no increments, no incentives, no other facility
Growth aspect: First promotion for a grad is offered only after 3 years in company which is weird and most people in the company are married with kids so less-no scope for a role improvement.
Company is struggling financially so expect frequent cost cuts and lay offs.
    Very strong hierarchy system.

    Advice to Management

    Reduce hierarchy.
You are too frugal, Invest money in making your employees happy.

    Cons

rare promotion opportunities; strict hierarchy system; hard to step into international industrial discussion; depressingly managed; needs to be make huge personal efforts in order to be recognised.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Imagination Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

It's a great place for graduate engineers to learn a great deal in short time. Freshly graduated engineers can start writing RTL from day 1, while our Cambridge brethren won't let you come anywhere near RTL without a PhD and many years of experience.
Also, the company takes great pride in caring about the well-being of their employees: a good subsidised canteen, a ride-to-work scheme that allows you to lease a bicycle to go to work real cheap, stress management seminars, ...

    Cons

The reason why they can allow fresh graduates to work on the hard things is that the experienced and talented people leave as soon as they realise that they're paid Highland wages while living in an area with London housing prices, and that salary and title progression are just a blurry promise at best and that the shares they give you as bonus (after completing three years) are worth nothing and plummet from year to year.
The reason why they offer a subsidised canteen and leased bicycles is because they're probably aware that their engineers can't afford a used car, or a decent flat or to feed their child on what they earn.

    Advice to Management

Managers, you must be proud of your achievements! Just look at your Porsches, Mercedes and BMWs on the car park! Just don't forget that qualified labour has a price or you're going to lose them all. By the way, now that you're on a building frenzy, maybe you could build subsidised company dorms. With your engineers living on campus, it will be more easy for them to work even more unpaid overtime.

Have fun, I'm leaving soon. I finally found someone who values my skills and will double my salary. Double!

I worked at Imagination Technologies as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

State of the art for many sectors, good for beginners.

    Cons

Impossible to work there if you are not English: full of xenophobic English managers and engineers. Managers normally choose foreign contractors only when don't find English engineers.

Relaxed environment, chance to do something interesting, one of the few companies designing hardware near london area. Good as a first job.
