I have been working at Imagination Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most people here are great and have good work ethics. There are always some bad apples everywhere, but all in all it's good, especially in my team (the bad apples left for Apple :P).

    Cons

Upper Management is a bit slow on understanding some things on the technical side, missing opportunities to have an edge on the competition and incentivise our (B2B) customers.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your engineers' suggestions. They know their field better than you. That's what you pay them for, so trust their input!

I have been working at Imagination Technologies full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great for exposure to hardware design cycle, challenging work, a unique experience, nice canteen. Good atmosphere in the office. I've learned a lot.

    Cons

Poor documents, weak project management and structure. Don't socialise much outside of teams. The day to day is pretty routine, I get bored doing the same thing day in day out.

    Advice to Management

Better dissemination of best practices. Outline best practices. There should be more interest in career development at each level that follows a structure. Mentoring, management development, coding etc.

    Pros

Interesting cutting-edge projects, approachable colleagues, which sometimes including much higher-ups -- at least some of them.

    Cons

On the flip side not everyone is always approachable, communication lines across different departments are not clear. No notion of longer-term strategy for more recent development programmes. Constrained in resources, so will take folks coming from larger organisations some adjustment. Unclear career prospects for those already out of their junior/graduate years but not nearly at senior mgmt level. A bit too basic compensation package.
