I worked at Immersion Consulting full-time

    Pros

The work/life balance is nice depending on who is your PM.

    Cons

They could do a better job about caring for their employees. They like to find holes to screw you and push you out of the company even if they have no relation to your contract.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees, and hear all sides of the story... Good Luck!

I have been working at Immersion Consulting full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The leadership of the company is very hands off and allows you to take care of the client as you see fit. For the most part, you are allowed to take on more responsibility and new opportunities as you see fit. The company believes in a healthy home/work balance and typically only requires 40 hour weeks. The work week tends to be lexible (based on client needs) and allows for comp time as long as it is taken in the same pay period. Pay and benefits seem to be on par for the region.

    Cons

If you are not a motivated self starter, you may find yourself lost in the beginning. The hierarchy within the company is somewhat ambiguous.

    Advice to Management

Maybe have more informal discussions with employees on performance and career development.

I worked at Immersion Consulting full-time

    Pros

Paycheck, time sheet, and a charge code.

    Cons

Sub-par benefits, site PM's regularly try to over-ride executive management decisions. Getting routine benefits reimbursed through HR was a nightmare. No structure. If you need something to tide you over, see who the prime contractor has partnered with and talk to them instead. This place gives mom & pop operations a bad name.

I worked at Immersion Consulting full-time

    Pros

Immersion works hard to get meaningful contracts and upper management are all sweet, genuine people.

    Cons

There is no structure to Immersion and the company gives no incentive to stay. I was never provided feedback and the overall company infrastructure seemed scattered and disorganized. If I ever had an HR question, I would have to wait several weeks to receive a response. Additionally, they don't seem to communicate at headquarters. The company runs exactly like a mom and pop shop. It's a great place to work if you need something to tide you over.

    Advice to Management

Work on your company infrastructure and organization and start communicating with each other and your employees!

I have been working at Immersion Consulting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have been working at Immersion for two years and absolutely love it! If you are looking for a challenge and want to learn and grow - this is the place for you. The work environment is collegial and management is supportive and encouraging. My opinions and business solutions are valued and I have the opportunity to manage my projects and accounts.

    Cons

If you are looking for a organized company with direct supervision - Immersion is probably a good fit. Also if you are not a self starter, the environment at Immersion would be a challenge,

    Advice to Management

Since most of the employees are on site with contracts and projects - I wish we had more opportunity to meet the other Immersion employees. I would suggest to management that maybe monthly calls and quarterly events would be welcome!

    Pros

This company offered great work experience with senior level managers.

    Cons

Who's in charge? Stick to your word, and don't have the president's statements over ruled by a site supervisor.

    Advice to Management

Create an organizational chart and allow those persons to be in charge.
