- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Love management here! Completely supported. Always learning new products. Easy going atmosphere!
Cons
There are none that come to mind.
- Former Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Compensation and ability to work from home
Cons
Clueless company, no direction, lay off employees every corner you turn at the drop of a hat, dishonest. I asked MANY times about lay offs, why everyone was constantly disappearing before starting with the company after reading many reviews about employees being laid off. I was assured time and time again that there was. nothing to worry about, only to be laid off at exactly just TWO MONTHS of employment. What an absolute joke. If you are on the fence about accepting an offer-- just don't. Save yourself the misery and look for a permanent position for yourself.

Pros
VERY fast-paced work environment; your day is over before you noticed. Impac has been around for a while and can survive a storm for the few who are selected to remain on as an employee and are willing to go through the pain.
Cons
Things often operated in such a hectic and chaotic manner that, for the most part, it was nearly impossible to be as efficient and timely as one would like to have been. There were no clear mandatory processes and protocols in place, and if there were any, there were no clear "hard stops" that triggered when they weren't followed accordingly, which resulted in a plethora of errors, which in turn resulted in numerous post-closing/post-funding fallouts, investor kick-backs and/or requests for re-purchase. In addition, they sell their loans to FAR TOO MANY different non-Agency investors who often have OVERWHELMING OVERLAYS, and, you never know upfront which of those investors that the loan that you're underwriting is going to be sent to. This resulted in A LOT of fallout on the back end. Another negative impact on the working environment is that there was far too much nepotism; at times, several of the relatives occupied supervisory positions, which put many of use at a disadvantage.

Pros
Great co-workers, excellent location, employee access to a cafe on the 1st floor.
Cons
The compensation, benefits and infrastructure.
- Current Employee, more than 10 years★★★★★
Pros
Great management, good camaraderie, hard working employees (for the most part!). *** I don't think this job is for everyone. Definitely takes hard work, a good grasp of this industry, and dedication. If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen, as they say.
Cons
Some employee turnaround, only due to people not realizing that this job takes actual work when coming aboard. Seems like the ones who come aboard and leave quickly as also the ones who don't contribute much while they are here. So I guess, it's almost a Pro as well.
- Former Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Got to collaborate with a lot of really smart minds over at Impac on various front-end and back-end solutions
Cons
Location lent itself to lots of traffic
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
Decent people, decent to all right pay
Cons
management not invested, lack of engagement
- Current Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Great leadership team with lots of experience.
Cons
Communication are sometimes lacking and sporadic.

Pros
great job, great people, great company
Cons
can not think of any
- Current Employee, less than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
The Capital Markets team runs really well. training is minimal but if you have a decent head above your shoulders you'll survive.
Cons
LO's are the bottom of the barrel in scamming the firm. if you don't have a care about them trying to scam the firm out of money then this place wont be a problem for you.
