I have been working at Imperial College London full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I am a parent. There is a nursery at South Kensington Campus, Imperial College, where my kids go to. It is convenient to me so I can come to work with them and go home together.

I worked at Imperial College London part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Imperial’s commercial arm uses campus spaces to run high profile external and internal events.
Opportunities to work on important AGMs, dignitary visits, science fairs etc.
Office and operations teams are full of good, friendly people.
Managers are do-ers who get involved with the hands on running of an event.

    Cons

The department invests in good AV equipment but some of the spaces (ie. Great Hall) were dated, with tired infrastructure, when I was there.

    Advice to Management

Don’t be afraid to offer current college students who work for you more senior positions - might keep a few after they graduate!
