    Pros

As long as you are willing to ask for work you can do anything (any project you like). Easy to get hired back if you are willing to work hard.

    Cons

Absolutely none! Some co-workers complain about working too much -- you do need to work average 10 hours/day, but I think it's nothing compare to other companies.

I worked at Imperial Oil (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company has great policies in every aspect, performance and results, work culture, and safety. I felt very welcomed, supported, and eager to do my best. This is one of the few companies that does treat its employees as one of its biggest assets, not to mention salary and benefits are also really really good.

    Cons

There was an individual who harassed me for a bit, but my teammates and supervisor intervened very promptly and solved the issue; they were very attentive- so problem solved, but I would have appreciated if it did not happen at all, other than that, no complaints!

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you do :)

I worked at Imperial Oil full-time

    Pros

    - Compensation was good until about mid 2014, at which point the global oil crisis began (raises are essentially flat and benefits are being cut by the day for the foreseeable future)
    - In general, the scale of projects is large, so you get to work on big things very quickly in your career

    Cons

Overly process-driven dinosaur company with no ability to change its course. Its a very old company, and so you can expect the worst in terms of corporate hierarchy, politics, risk-avoiding culture, and its prehistoric employee ranking system. There is a huge population of baby boomers that refuses to retire - this has proven to be a big problem for the company. First, it prevents young people from moving up. Second, many of the boomers looking to retire take their technical knowledge with them in hopes of being hired back as consultants in retirement.
If you are looking to move up in the company, prepare to relocate to several remote locations where the company operates its assets - this is a big part of "putting in your time" for a successful career. Overall, the lack of transparency regarding your career and the political games that take place in middle and upper management make it a miserable place to work. This place just can't compete in 2016. Avoid at all costs.

    Advice to Management

The biggest challenge this company is facing (and there are many) is its retiring workforce with no replacement. It needs to do a better job of retaining its young talent - this is already a huge problem.
