    Pros

Lot of stuff can be learnt here, flexible work environment if you are hard working and have a rapport with the boss, flexible holiday system if you are communicative with your boss.

    Cons

Politics, red tape, favoritism, cross team opaqueness, lack of team work, sales team can be totally unreasonable and condescending to support without backing from the support management so you will be on your own there.

    Advice to Management

Act and not just listen to the pain points of the support team in order for them to do their work and be more effective.

I have been working at Imperva full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Solid product that beats competition in head-to-head battles consistently. Good compensation that is starting to slide upwards as you stay at the organization. Good stable of experienced and smart co-workers that you can rely on for help when needed.

    Cons

Executive leadership change has started to trickle down through the ranks. Many of the sales and field engineering teams have lost valuable members to other organizations and have been replaced with people from much larger organizations that have never sold in the space before. As such the culture is starting to change from a nimble, small company feel towards larger organization buried in process and culture of big companies like IBM, CA, and HP.

    Advice to Management

Compensate teams appropriately. Stop the nepotism that is starting to run rampant in the field sales organizations. Just because you've worked with someone in the past, doesn't mean that they are qualified to in this space!

I worked at Imperva full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Imperva definitely has some talented technical staff that are great to work with. The current stock price makes equity grants a really nice plus.

    Cons

Frequent management changes. Poor communication internally. No real option for advancement as new management brings in their peers. A lot of tribal knowledge leaves regularly with staffing churn.

    Advice to Management

Value your internal staff. Don't always look to hire from the outside. Make a concerted effort to consider internal talent for advancement or new opportunities.

I worked at Imperva full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great solution for database and WAF, decent middle management, a few good SEs

    Cons

Very detached Sr Mgmt, Israel driven culture, no respect for sales, poor inside sales support, no marketing to speak of, poor product support beyond WAF. Not a sales culture. Incredibly cliquish and lopsided favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Build better field relationships, stop the cliques

    Advice to Management

Have upward mobility for sales team into a closing role.

I have been working at Imperva full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Get to work from home or small region and decent travel opportunities.

    Cons

Very long work hours. If you are not sales, takes a lot of blood sweat and tears to grow the organization. Current organizational model is not scale-able and not sustainable. People get burnt out easier than other companies I've been at. Only the very strong survive and even prosper.

    Advice to Management

Hire more regional managers to allow those regions to grow and not saddle upper management so much of the lower-level operations. This may be the case with sale, but not with the operations and support organizations.

Former Employee - Product Marketing Manager in Foster City, CA

    Pros

I consistently liked working with people in every group at Imperva, including Sales, Product Management, Corporate Marketing, and Channel Marketing. Each employee was supportive, helpful, responsive, and adapted well to an often high pressured, deadline-driven environment.

    Cons

The work environment is relatively somber, despite having the monthly company lunch to celebrate birthdays and special occasions. There is a lot of work, divided among small groups of people, which can be the source of occasional tension and less downtime.

    Advice to Management

To try to understand employees better and give them an opportunity to express their views about new skills they want to attain and new projects they want to be involved in, and not just be subject to a top-down style of management wherein they are given specific tasks to complete.
