Its a great time to be at Imperva!

Apr 7, 2018 - Sales Engineering in San Diego, CA

      Pros

The company is changing as a result of our new leadership. Imperva is evolving as part of our next phase of growth; it can be an exciting time, with lots of opportunities if you're engaged. "If you are engaged" is the key; not, "if you are in some inner circle". Chris (CEO) is establishing from the top down an environment of Integrity and Openness, with a culture of transparency, collaboration, and communication for all employees. A recurring comment internally is that Chris is doing all of the right things, in the right way. I find that I value what Chris is clearly stating are Imperva's values. Imperva's products and solutions have always worked and delivered what they promise to deliver; all of which makes your job as a sales engineer easier (both personally and professionally). Multiple employees left years ago and have returned because of the quality of people and products at Imperva. Product direction and vision has always been and appears to be very strong.

      Cons

The company is changing as a result of our new leadership. Change can be scary; and feels uncertain at times. We've lost good people due to the changes going on throughout the organization. It always takes new staff time to get up to speed. Imperva solves a lot of difficult problems across multiple discrete technical and security disciplines and does so with a great story but, professionally this createst a search for sales engineering unicorns that are experts at: networking, linux, security, selling, application security, cloud engineering, data security, API integration, and more. Long term, sales engineering can be a challenging role at Imperva as you're working to be an SME in production and solution areas.

Things are finally starting to look better

Jul 16, 2020 - Account Executive in Redwood Shores, CA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Product is the best in the industry! The C-level team now is putting Imperva back on the right track (albeit not as fast as we hoped it could be). Unlike the sales WW leader who moved back to EMEA, the new CRO knows how a great sales team ought to be run. He is bringing the company back to where it used to be. We finally have a global sales management leadership team who has what it takes to do the job. We are also really grateful to Gigamon in a way for saving our EMEA team from falling into another mess!

      Cons

Things went down hill extremely fast with the previous management. Echoing the previous Glassdoor review of the prior sales WW leader who moved back to EMEA. His lackluster sales experience resulted in many good people leaving. This year alone, a lot of time was spent clearing up the mess he and the previous CEO created.

Not the best job I ever had . . . not the worst.

Jun 2, 2020 - Senior Technical Account Manager in Redwood Shores, CA

      Pros

World leader in full-stack security solutions; Fine cutting edge security technology; some very good people working here; fast-paced opportunity to be of service to all class of corporate, private and government customers. Well rounded.

      Cons

Easy to get lost in the mix; Even for a high-performer accustomed to reaching out and staying in touch, it's really tough to be heard or make any difference; some management seems asleep at the switch; an awful lot of the best talent has left in the ensuing management shuffles these last few years; silo mentality abounds even in what can sometimes be a well inter-connected opportunity to be a terrific security vendor.

Was a leader and stopped innovating and poor sales leadership

Mar 11, 2020 - Senior Account Executive in Redwood Shores, CA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Has has a superior product that has given us room to play at any level

      Cons

Did not innovate fast enough, invested in inferior products that missed the mark and purchase bot a year too late. Company is amazing, but quickly losing its place due to product innovation. Poor sales WW leader led to many bad hires which led to good people leaving. New CRO has very little experience but is much better than leader who moved back to EMEA.

      RUN FAR AWAY

      May 16, 2020 - Senior Account Executive

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Good people in general and lower management care & I will be out of the door soon.

      Cons

New C-Level are totally inexperienced. The CEO is a first time CEO and out of her depth. The CCO and the CRO are clueless in the security space. All three are self serving, arrogant, and are creating a toxic, awful culture. Gone are the days of respect and good principles. The company is in a mess. Great talent are leaving in droves. Extremely TOXIC highly political place to work.

Wouldn't Recommend to join the Support Team

Nov 27, 2019 - Support in Redwood City, CA

      Business Outlook

      Pros

Imperva used to be a good company before new management

      Cons

After the aquisition, Imperva doesn't seem like before. Many good people left the company and it looks like leaders and manager didn't care to retain them. In regards the support team, everything changed after the new director of support took over and a new manager came;they change the culture. Most of the support engineers for Imperva for both products left the company this years in HQ because of the changes. Manager looks like he micromanage people . Because most of us left, you see many support engineer positions open in the career page even though it is a small team. There was no career growth in my team also.

      Imperva Response

      Chief Human Resources Officer

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. Imperva’s executive and marketing teams have undergone significant change in the past year. While change is difficult, we are proud of Imperva’s accomplishments and know it would not be possible without past and present employee contributions.

A shell of its former self

      Business Outlook

      Pros

A couple good people still left....a couple. That means NOT a lot. Imperva used to be a GREAT place to work. In fact one of the finest I have ever worked for. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case.

      Cons

      * If you admire and require a CEO whom will swear the company is not for sale, admits once it is sold that they were working on a sale since he first came on, obtains millions during the sale for himself and management (some of which had barely been at Imperva for a year), but gives ZERO to the employees, many of which had been at Imperva for over a decade, this is the place for you. * You want to believe what management says, but time and time again you will come to the realization you have been deceived once again. * A complete roller coaster, with layoffs of good people occurring without explanation on a regular basis. * They will try and sell the dream, but all they are really trying to do is hang on until their payoffs vest. * Do yourself a favor and look for a company who TRULY values its employees. Only come to Imperva if you need somewhere to sit and cool your jets while you look for a legitimate company looking to truly grow the business, and looks to enrich employees, management, and shareholders alike.
